Switzerland 'foils attack on Israeli airliner'

Swiss intelligence agents have foiled a planned attack on an Israeli airliner, according to Swiss authorities.
Seven people of North African origin are being held on suspicion of plotting to attack a jet belonging to El Al, the national airline of Israel.
The Swiss Attorney General's office gave no further details of the alleged plot, but said that Spanish and French police had been involved in a Europe-wide investigation into connected terror groups.
"The inquiry has ... made it possible to show that this cell had very seriously envisaged committing an attack in our country on an airliner belonging to the El Al airline," it said in a statement.
The arrests appear to be connected to claims made in the Israeli press last month that Swiss and French intelligence agents had foiled a plot to shoot down an El Al plane over Geneva in December using a rocket-propelled grenade.
The suspicions of Swiss police were first aroused after a series of robberies was committed early last year by what the Attorney General's office described as a highly organised group of about a dozen people.
An investigation revealed that "a part of the stolen booty was transferred for the benefit of a terrorist organisation," according to the statement.
El Al operates regular scheduled flights from Tel Aviv to Zurich and to Geneva.

Just interested in the terrorist organization that is implicated, not the methods, but even that might be too compromising.
