Will the Zarqawi killing mark a major turning point in the Iraq war?

BREAKING NEWS:

A high ranking member of democrat party chief’s (Howard Dean) staff who was the prime strategic planner for the democratic congressional committee and the Iraqi DNC outreach coordinator suffered a fatal accident this morning as he and several of his close associates were brunching in the quaint, sunny, tropical resort of Baqouba.

Apparently, Mr. Abu Musab Zarqawi and his staff were enjoying of simple repast of his favorite sweet melon salad, Jimmy Dean sausage and citrus spritzers chatting merrily on their cell phones with DNC operatives in Washington about the prospect of taking back Congress, when the line went dead.

The DNC later discovered that Mr. Z as he was affectionately called by his colleagues suffered a fatal interaction with a GBU-32 JDAM which hit him directly in his trademark beanie. The DNC complained that the JDAM device was a dirty political trick deployed by Republican operatives in Iraq with Bush’s full knowledge and approval. The White House later confirmed this accusation while dancing a jig, giggling and tauting Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid with the phrase: “Bring it on”.

The DNC stated in a press release that this further proves the extent that the “Culture of Corruption” erodes our and all peace loving person’s civil rights. They have also requested that the ACLU investigate if there was any violation of legal due process.

An anonymous but highly placed Republican pundit opined that the loss of Mr. Z will dampen the confidence of the DNC that they will retake the house, because of his key role in planning and strategy.

A non-sectarian memorial service is planned and his remains (all 6.5 grams) will be interred near the grave of Mr. Jimmy Hoffa.

The turning point was in Fallujah in November 2004. When historians look back at the Iraq war, I think they will point to the successful crushing of the Fallujah resistance as the turning point. This is nice, though.

Hard to say if we will have a turning point. The Iraqi government was also finalized today. There were a lot of follow up raids as well. I heard the number 17. We may hear more information on them tomorrow.

"... GBU-32 JDAM which hit him..."

Wrong weapon... It was a Paveway II or III....

Now there really is a quagmire in Iraq. It's a greasy spot left behind after Mr Z met Mr Missile.

I hope he was eating Jimmy Dean sausage... maybe his final moments would have been reflecting on dying an apostate instead of a martyr.

The bad guys have been losing and will continue to be crushed. The new Iraq troops are doing good work and leaving our guys to get the worst hornets nests.

Plenty of crayons to go around at DNC headquarters.

And when your party's platform consists totally of whatever Republicans are for we are against and whatever George Bush says we are vehemently against, there is no shortage of "Jeez and Whine" at their party headquarters.

This is priceless. LOL

In all seriousness, though, Dems & MSM will still pile on.

What this DOES do is diminish their glee about Haditha, diminish Murtha again, validate our used of terrorists for pumping info (I suspect through whatever means necessary still), reduce possibility we'll withdraw troops just yet even though the MSM is panting with this wish this morning, and boost the country's mood a bit.
