Our one party media has done such a good job convincing us of the popularity of the "Iraqi insurgency" that I have to admit to being a little surprised to see Iraqis celebrating the death of al-Zarqawi:
An Iraqi soldier flashes a victory sign as he celebrates the death of Al Qaeda's leader in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Kerbala, 110 km (70 miles) south of Baghdad June 8, 2006.
Iraqi soldiers hold up their weapons as they celebrate the death of Al Qaeda's leader in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Najaf, 160 km (100 miles) south of Baghdad, June 8, 2006.
Iraqi celebrate after hearing that Al-Qaeda militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed in a joint US-Iraqi raid on the outskirts of the restive city of Baquba. US and Iraqi officials hailed Zarqawi's demise as a major blow against al-Qaeda's bid to destabilise the country.
Iraqi soldiers celebrate the news that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, al-Qaida's leader in Iraq who led a bloody campaign of suicide bombings and kidnappings, has been killed in an air raid north of Baghdad, in the Sadr City area of Baghdad, Iraq Thursday, June 8, 2006.
Iraqi police officers and an elderly woman fire guns in the air to celebrate the news that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, al-Qaida's leader in Iraq who led a bloody campaign of suicide bombings and kidnappings, has been killed in an air raid north of Baghdad, in the Sadr City area of Baghdad, Iraq Thursday, June 8, 2006. One of the police officers gave his pistol to the elderly woman, whom he knew, so that she could join in the celebrations by firing in the air with them.
Of course it makes all the sense in the world.
But our media's propaganda is so effective.
The power of propaganda.
I don't know if I'd say I was surprised, but it was good to see. The MSM does a good job of propagandizing for the enemy.
Yet Mr. Berg is sad.
Beautifully stated. All the news that's fit to shape -- into the liberal point of view.
Nice pics over here!
Lay that pistol down, babe - lay that pistol down
Pistol Packin' Mama, lay that pistol down.
I'll see you ev'ry night, babe - I'll woo you ev'ry day
I'll be your regular daddy - if you'll put that gun away.
Bah!
Those pictured are all paid by Boosh&Co. to look happy. /DU
Ah, yes, the spin machine is in motion. Fox shows some of these pictures, as you have--but many are quick to add that this victory comes "after a long string of failures" and they ask (in their "serious" voices) if this will be enough to save the Bush presidency. Some have questioned the "timing" suggesting it's a political ploy; others wonder why it took 2500 US deaths to kill "one" man--and the funny thing is, when I first heard about his death this morning, I predicted that's what the libs would say! They're so predictable!
She's packin a Glock by the look of it.
That is what I just heard *3* minutes ago.
They're saddened!
Which is the official DU position? I've seen all three over there (now off to the decontamination shower):
1. Zarqawi never existed. He was just a fictional creation of Bush/CIA/Israel.
2. Zarqawi wasn't really killed. This is just a look alike.
3. Zarqawi's death doesn't matter/will only anger Al Queda.
The MSM Agitprop machine is effective only on nonthinking types. Anyone that has the capability of independent thinking and reasoning is not affected...........
My coworker (a liberal) commented on why were the Iraqis celebrating so much. She thought Zarquawi was popular in Iraq.
"Hey, baby. Is that a Glock under your burka, or are you just happy to see me?"
I thought the Dems. told us it's a lie that Iraqis celebrated their liberation...I guess they'll claim this is a lie too.
