CAIRO, Egypt
Al-Qaida in Iraq confirmed the death of its leader, Abu Musab al- Zarqawi, and vowed it will continue its "holy war" in a statement posted on the Web on Thursday.
"We want to give you the joyous news of the martyrdom of the mujahed sheik Abu Musab al-Zarqawi," said the statement, signed by "Abu Abdel- Rahman al-Iraqi," identified as the deputy "emir" or leader of al- Qaida in Iraq.
"The death of our leaders is life for us. It will only increase our persistence in continuing holy war so that the word of God will be supreme," it said.

Why doesn't al Qaida just cut and run? Geeze, these guys are the ones losing, and they resolve to send more bodies. It's backwards, I tell you.

If martyrdom is cause for joy for Islamo-fascists, then why should they all not reveal their exact locations so that we might better send them on the road to martyrdom and heaven? Better yet assemble in one large armed group and advance on our well-prepared troops. Just asking.

I don't really hate these people. As a Christian, I am told to pray for my enemies.
But until I see a change of action/heart, I think we should treat them like cockroaches - simply a bad thing that needs to be eliminated. It is not really an emotional thing for me.
My attitude is similar to that of someone killing wolves that are attacking his sheep. It is not about hate. It is about eliminating a nuisance.

This is interesting because I could swear I heard on FNC this morning that Rahman was killed as well. Maybe they are writing their obits in advance. Perhaps someone posted Rahman's obit for Zarqawi before it was known that he was also among the recently departed. Wonder what his final statement was?

My attitude is similar to that of someone killing wolves that are attacking his sheep. It is not about hate. It is about eliminating a nuisance. For me, with Saddam, it was eliminating the mad dog that threatened the people. He simply needed to be put down. However, with Zarqawi and his ilk, it's personal. I do hate them. The only better ending for him would have been for those that turned him over to us to have actually carried out the execution themselves. I would like to see the video of them cutting his head off on Arab TV, and his pleading and screaming while they did it.
