CNN Headline News is extending its Headline Prime primetime block from five to seven days a week, adding weekends June 17. The network will replace its weekend news wheel with clip compilations of Prime News with Erica Hill and Showbiz Tonight and a rerun of Nancy Grace to weekends. They join the block's Glenn Beck, which has run seven nights a week since its debut in May.

Glenn who?
Cnn headline what?
I have. He has a face for radio. He's very annoying on television, not so much on the radio.
I think I watched CNN once about 15 years ago, when some crisis or other broke. Even then, I was disappointed at how few facts they provided.
Excuse me for asking the obvious...but why not replace the LAME programming on CNN with Grace and these other CNNHN personalities and keep CNNHN as it was 24/7?
Headline News? Is that still on the air? (As an aside - Bernard Shaw was the best damn newsman CNN ever had.)
I've caught him a few times. True, he's no pretty-boy, but the show's actually not too bad. If there's nothing else Conservative on that's better, I'll watch Mr. Beck.
I don't know if that was rhetorical or not but here is his info from wikipedia:

:-)
I have on the weekend when the program selection was so bad I actually tuned in to CNNH. It's blocked on my remote so it will always skip over it, so I had to punch it in directly.
Beck does some good stuff, but the producer/driector tries to get way too fancy with the "artistic" camera shots, etc. Obviously an upstart director that wants to try out all his fancy ideas at once. It was so distracting that it was difficult to keep up with what was being said. It is just too much work to watch it.
My wife was thrilled when he had Judge Alex (from a daytime TV court show that the ladies watch before we get home in the afternoon) on for some comments.
It's not bad for a guy who's never been on television before.
Wow. Tough life. Glad he made it through. Thanks for the link. I would've never thought to check it out.
Glenn Beck's show is my new 7 pm watch. It's much more enjoyable (and funnier) than Shep Smith.
Does anyone know if Joel Cheatwood is still VP over the CNN Headline News?
Are you serious? Even when he was drunk, and slurring his words while hiding under the desk during the attacks in Tehran during Desert Storm?
From Wikipedia:
"Joel Cheatwood is currently the executive director of program development for the CNN Networks."
I guess that explains the new look and the new programs.
The snide, "I know everything" twang of Nancy Grace can make me ill in mere seconds.
I've been watching Beck instead of Shep Smith. Beck's funny, a nice change of pace. Last night we were cracking up at him having the audience practice saying "islamic extremist terrorist"...because he says we need to get used to saying it even though the MSM never likes to mention it. (he was discussing the Toronto arrests.) I'm surprised CNN is letting him get away with saying the stuff he's saying. He probably won't last long.
I was partial to Lynne Russell myself
Something lacking, altho people do say he has a good radio show.
It's his appearance that's offputting for me.
