.....Did security cut up his credit cards and escort him to the parking lot ?......

One morning years ago I visited a vendor to make a progress review and on arriving asked about the health of the President.

I was told the company had been sold and the new owner was greeted at the airport by the president a day or two before. He was asked for his credit cards and keys to the company car. They left him at the airport and sent all his stuff to him in a box via ups. I presume they changed all the locks, sparing him the indignity of handing over keys to the company.

A joke in many industries was if you flew back to your home office and were supposed to meet at the Red Carpet Lounge or a similiar place in the Airport instead of going into the home office site. You might just be fired.

They knew you wouldn't have a gun or weapon in the Airport. They would meet you in a secure meeting room in the Red Carpet Lounge or a similiar place. They would terminate you, take your corporate id and credit cards away and give you a one way ticket home on the next flight out and take away the ticket you had to go home.
