This is interesting. Reading throught this thread, I get to post 28 and read what Dracian has to say. People like myself are being fleeced. In 28 posts so far, I count six posters who dislike AC. They are Dracian, saganite, HarmlessLovableFuzzball, FourtySeven, Rogueisland, and Right Wing Professor. My question - if you dislike her so much, why bother reading a thread about her? Also, have any of you read her book? I mean it has only been out two days. I know there are fast readers out there but here we have six fast readers who all dislike AC. I do not know what she fully says about evolution. My question - has evolution been proven or is it still theory? And if theory, why can we not treat it as such? I am not a scientist - nor do I play one on television - but I will read her entire book first before I risk commenting on what she has to say about evolution. In the meantime, it seems to me, you six posters get some sort of perverse pleasure participating on a thread concerning a woman you dislike.

You might be interested in my post #160 on this thread. And by the way, the only reason I clicked on this one yesterday was because of the title, I found it intriguing. I usually didn't click on Ann Coulter threads after her comment at CPAC, as a general rule (you can check my posting history for confirmation of that), and now I certainly won't be in the future.

Because I liked her until I discovered she is in fact a ditz and an scientific imbecile who actually thinks Dembski has something intelligent to say.

Coulter is a disgrace and an embarrassment to conservatism. Her books are full of distortions, half-truths and complete fabrications. She is a bomb-thorwer who seems to get off on seeing how many people she can outrage. She does immense damage to us all, and as a conservative, I want her gone.

Coulter, a poli. science major who went to law school, also has taken it upon herself to instruct us all on what science is and is not. As someone who has been doing science for a third of a century, I have a stake in that. AND, having read the 'science' sections of her book, I can tell you she knows about as much science as my cat. I've seen more intelligent attacks on the theory of evolution right here on FR. Science is not merely a matter of opinion; there is right, and there is wrong, and Coulter is wrong, over and over and over again.

Finally, a scientific theory is never proven in the mathematical sense. The theory of evolution is however substantiated better than any in science. The opposition to evolution arises from religous fundamentalism, not science.

If you want some specific examples of Coulter's errors, check my blog or the Darwin Central blog. And interestingly, neither of us have even started writing about Coulter's take on evolution; we're still on the idiotic things she wrote about DDT and about the Chernobyl disaster.
