Ah sweet satisfaction! I am waiting until her announcement before I break out the party hats and noisemakers.
I think the "grassroots" of the Republican party in NY (ie anyone who thinks Hillary is actually too liberal) has finally been discovered.
I think the NY GOP is better to purge its RINO's, even if they're more "electable." I'm actually somewhat encouraged.
This Minarik fellow has some balls and should promptly be promoted to national GOP chairman.
I am personally amazed how much support Hillary has upstate... I don't understand it... but I am amazed by it.
We don't need to vote. Be reasonable agree with me.
Our county has endorsed Spencer. Get out of the way, K.T.!
Looks like the nutcase is digging in her heels.
KT McFarland responds: I'm in 100%, all the way to November
Wednesday, June 07, 2006
New York State Republican Chairman Stephen Minarik called U.S. Senate candidate KT McFarland this morning and asked her to step aside in the Senate race for the sake of Republican unity. Below is a statement from Ms. McFarland.
Eleven weeks ago I said I was running for the United States Senate to re-apply the skills and expertise I acquired while serving three U.S. Presidents to the challenges now before our country. In that time, I have worked diligently, assembling a top-notch campaign team and soliciting more than enough support of Republican Party leaders to get on the ballot in September. In short, I have earned my spot on the ballot in September and I intend to keep it. To do anything else would be to renege on my promise to the hundreds of people I have met in the last eleven weeks, who have supported me, often against the pressures of the party bosses.
These good people have put their faith in me as the best candidate to be the standard bearer of the Republican Party and challenge Mrs. Clinton in November. I have given them my word, and I intend to keep it.
Democracy is a precious thing and I look forward to a primary campaign as an expression of democracy in action. Republican voters have a right to select whom they want to challenge Mrs. Clinton in November and a primary will give them the chance to take a good look at their options. In the coming months I will communicate directly with the 3.1 million Republicans in our state. I will listen to their concerns, and I will tell them about me, my background and my core philosophical beliefs of lower taxes, less government and a strong national defense. After that, they themselves will choose the candidate to challenge Mrs. Clinton
no one else.
