JAKARTA

The Indonesian defense minister warned the Bush administration on Tuesday that its approach to fighting terrorism was alienating Muslims and that it needed to be more sensitive to local governments.

"In the application of security, including anti-terrorist laws, it's best that you leave the main responsibility of anti-terrorist measures to the local government in question," Juwono Sudarsono said at a news conference as Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld stood by his side.

Sudarsono added: "It's important to us because, as the world's largest Muslim country, we are very aware of the perception, or misperception, that the United States is overbearing and overpresent and overwhelming in every sector of life in many nations and cultures."

Get bent, Indonesia. Being the single largest muslim country, I think, They're more or less part of the problem, IMO.

They can get bent!

That'll happen when they keep trying to blow up our cities.

Send Indonesian Muslims 50 cents and tell them to make a call and see if anyone gives a flying F.

"...the United States is overbearing and overpresent and overwhelming in every sector of life in many nations and cultures."

We apologize. We'll stop the overbearing and overpresent foreign aid immediately. ;)

Not a Christian in the bunch.

One thing I noticed is with the exception of like two of them the rest are extremely butt-ugly, (some look like mongloids). No wonder they were pissed at the world.

The thought of getting off this planet and being with 72 virgins when you look like that had to be extremely appealing.

I doubt if most of these mutts ever even had a girlfriend....any kind of girlfriend.

Some visited strip clubs and prostitutes leading up to their final days before 9/11.

Last week these morons were whining that President Bush "was slow to respond" after they had their earthquake. This is why I'm not a big fan of throwing U.S. taxpayer dollars at foreign countries.

Did the defense minister say this with a muslim bomb strapped to his groin under the desk?

Otherwise, how on earth do people with no brain/mind get into office?

For most of them I bet it was closest that they ever got to girl that didn't have breath like camel dung and a face to match.

Well rest assured muzlim, that even while our gov't appears to be sympathetic, politically correct or just blinded, most of 'we', the American people can't stand the izlamic stench you leave when you pass thru...And we will be more than happy to help you relocate back to your sewer...

It almost sounds like the Mexicans whining about our "fascist" behavior by insisting our border laws be enforced...the f&^%^$g world can go sit on it. The Mexicans, the Islamics, all of them.

""So I was telling the secretary just recently, just two minutes ago, that your powerful economy and your powerful military does lend to misperception and a sense of threat by many groups right across the world, not just in Indonesia," Sudarsono said at the news conference."

Kind of interesting. Most countries in the world come up with some version of this statement, including those in Europe. Almost no countries make statements like this about Russia, China, Iran, or Venezuela. Just making a statement like this about one of those countries could cause a destabilization effort to begin aimed at your government.

What it boils down to is: our enemies use terror around the world, both overt (Islamic terror) and covert (Russian subversion and intimidation, Venezuelan subversion and intimidation, etc.) I think one reason why representatives of countries speak like this to us is to give vent to the sum total of all the rest of their fears---which must largely remain unspoken. Because we are decent, they feel it is safe to speak against us. This is starting to bug me.
