Oriana Fallaci, a hero of Freedom.
"Vilifying islam" is not a crime, but a proclamation of truth.

I've read her work. She is on trial for telling the truth.
She's a VERY brave woman.
Italy should be ashamed.

Isn't she living in the U.S. right now? If so, they'd have quite a time of it trying to drag her to Italy.

Oriana Fallaci, who once wrote that Muslims "breed like rats", Rats everywhere immediately rose up in protest at the comparison.

Muslims "breed like rats". I'm opposed to language like this. It gives rats a bad name. I prefer "breed like cockroaches"...yuk yuk yuk

I am saddened to see Oriana Fallaci being hounded from her native land. But I am heartened at her strength and bravery.

"I do not want to see a 24-metre minaret in the landscape of Giotto when I cannot even wear a cross or carry a Bible in their country, so I blow it up!" she said. In a trilogy of books published after the attacks of September 11, Ms Fallaci lamented the Islam "invasion" into Europe. She does have a valid point!
Judge Armando Grasso ruled in a preliminary hearing that Ms Fallaci had made 18 statements "offensive to Islam and Muslims".
A good little dhimmi judge!
Following her most recent comments, Adel Smith, the president of the Italian Muslim Union, said he would press for the sterner charge of inciting religious hatred.
And the aggrieved victimized Muslim - is there any other kind?

Oriana is an Italian hero of this war. Her books and articles paint Islam for what it is - something the politically correct Europeans do not know how to handle.

As an aside, Siena is one of my favorite cities in the world. It just wouldn't seem right to look out from the old town and see a minaret.
The Italians should make a deal with the Saudis: one mosque in Italy for every Church built in Saudi and every Bible distributed.
Do you know why the Muzzies won't allow other religions in their countries?
Because it would be the end of Islam!

So WHO determined that these 18 statements were "offensive", and why? Can a statement of truth still be considered offensive in Italy?
