I'm glad they have civilian attorneys.
It seems inappropriate for Congress to hold hearings until the charges have been dealt with.

Ping to a different case...but, disturbing, nonetheless.

"The bastards who leaked the information should be hung in a public square," said Brahms, who declined to identify his client. "My Marines are being thrown under the goddamn bus."
That's a plain spoken attorney!

Our troops do not deserve this.
By contrast, illegal aliens routinely get amnesty.
WE WANT AMNESTY FOR OUR TROOPS.
Our valiant soldiers should have sovereign immunity.

"The bastards who leaked the information should be hung in a public square," I have to agree with this attorney and they should throw Murtha in for rendering his guilty verdict about the other Marines.

I just LOVE how the stupid Congressweinies charge in and plan "hearings", before investigations are finished, charges are made (if any for one of the above incidents)...
Or there is a trial and a verdict...
Those hotdogs in Washington need to stay the heck out of this...and let the Marine Corps/Navy take care of it.

What if the Pentagon is directing the leaking? Courts-martial. I don't think anyone should actually be hung. But leaks in government should be dealt with.

This whole media feeding frenzy directed against our fighting men and women is the single most sickening thing I can ever remember seeing in my short 43 years.
And I lived through both Bubba's and Peanut Jimmah's sorry administrations.
I'm so frustrated with this bullsh!t I just want to spit blood...

Good point. A means of going after Rumsfeld???
To: Txsleuth
They are pathetic grandstanders of the worst kind. That goes for a large swath of the GOPers as well.

Exactly...and YET...Congress, EVEN the veterans like McCain, Warner, Graham....ALL seem to believe the WORST of our troops...
So...they automatically call for hearings...so they can show how unhappy and disturbed they are, for the whole world (voting pubic?) to see....

A means of going after Rumsfeld??? A means of getting ahead of the bad news. It's a political strategy perfected by the Clinton's, and used by every branch of government since then. I don't think there's any question that these are planned leaks.

I don't feel bad about it, but if you recall the convictions of Ollie North we overturned essentially because of Congressional grandstanding. How can you have legitimate hearings without the testimony of the participants?

Okay...are you saying they are leaking to soften the blow on THIS case, like you said they are trying to do on the Haditha case??
