And really, who's going to see it who isn't already a certifiable lib who only wants to see propaganda that fits their already-established prejudices?
Don't you love it when someone creats insignificant statistics to justify something like the most grossing movie per screen but it is only showing 77 theaters!
They dare not play it anywhere else.
Probably a lot since limos are known to be gas hogs.
Lol...the best part of Bush vs Kerry 04 was the exit polls (showing Kerry with a lead)...Dan Rather was visibly giddy at the beginning of the nightly telecast, then got more sullen as the night went on...CBS was the last station to call the election/Ohio for Bush.
Ahhh...memories...
Where's the movie playing? Probably all the liberal bastions.
Cool chart (no pun intended).
Teeny Tiny release. Had they released it nationwide it would have bombed. These numbers are scat...but they are being plugged for the same reason and in the same manner as Brokeback. Propaganda. If people think other people are seeing it, they feel they MUST go...everyone wants to be "in the know".
MS, AL....just kidding. NY, CA
LOL!
Best description of this I can think of. If people want to spend $10 to sleep they should stay home and give me the money.
BTW, this is from Newsmax, which reports on Entertainment Weekly's comment, so I don't see this as some huge conspiracy, unless Newsmax is One of Them now.
I don't think Newsmax is the one playing with the numbers, it's EW.
How is it that the moonbats don't blink at spending $10 on a movie ticket so some hollyweird clown and walk away with millions; yet they want to cry about $3 gas.
Its an OK stat when comparing two different movies, released at different times, when you can take the average theater count each played in (theaters/weeks run) and use both to weigh the results for a proper comparison.
Now if you FUDGE the number intentionally by releasing in only 2 theaters in the most LIBERAL cities in the US, and then running around quoting its own 'per theater' amount... thats entirely different, and ANYTHING but a 'good' stat.
Hollywood deals with myths and fantasies. Everyone loves a good piece of fiction - and I'm super seriel on that. :)
That's why I said if it's only in 10 theaters, it's pretty useless.
Actually, it's very good for comparing movies at the same time.
Any use of money as the measure over a long time (as HW likes to do) is fraught with problems. People attendence is never counted which is the only really good measure; so they use $ to make 100 movies look like they surpassed GWTW.
has it beaten the Da'Vinci code. One fiction is about the same as the other.
In 77 theaters? It definitely is something to brag about. That's an impressive revenue stream for extremely limited release like that, compare it to See No Evil which drew in $2 million at 1270 theaters and Just My Luck which got less than a million at 958 theaters. Like it or not Inconvenient Truth is making good bank.
