Fox News Channel correspondent Catherine Herridge will be off the air for at least two months - maybe more - while she recovers from giving a part of her liver to her 5-month-old son, Peter.
Herridge and her son will undergo the 10-hour operation today at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Peter was born with the liver disease biliary atresia, which hits roughly 300 children a year.
The infant has been on the transplant list since he was born, but his situation has gotten so critical that without Herridge giving part of her liver, he would die.
Herridge is a national correspondent based on Washington. She joined the network in 1996.
Prayers sent.
I didn't see the segment, but someone told me about it. I wish I had seen the picture. I'm sure he's a little sweetheart. A friend of mine has a 4 mo. old babyand she is so tiny and sweet. They are so vulnerable when they are so small. God bless them!
Hadn't seen it before and welcome the opportunity to say a prayer for the little tyke and his mom.
You might want to sent Fox & Friends a message to check out the thread. I am sure some lurk here but it might be nice for the family to read.
She's the one I've always called Bette Boop. She's good and cute. Prayers up for little Peter and his Mum.
Catherine has been my favorite news reporter for a long time. My prayers are with her and her family.
Amen. Thanks FRiends.
Thanks OldFriend. It is a truly inspiring story, and it's always a privilege to come before our Father's throne.
Fantastic idea, mware! Will do!
Catherine and others like her do more in inspiration and example with single womanly acts than all the decades of the pursuit of false, godless goals by militant feminazis put together.
Prayers for Catherine and tiny Peter. And thanks to Greta also for the loving and tasteful article on her collegue at Fox.
Leni
She does a great job. Sounds like she's as committed to being a mom as she is a reporter. :o)
Thanks for your prayers.
i am praying for them, that this hospital of my alma mater, will successfully perform this live-saving surgery.
Sending my prayers. I saw her son on TV last night. A really cute little guy; all smiles.
I've always admired Katherine as a reporter. Now I see that she is also a superb human being and mother. My prayers are for both her and her son....and for the doctors who learned how to do this marvelous operation. May God's love guide them all.
Amen, Leni! Thanks for your prayers. I'm going to keep an eye out to see if there are updates after the surgery. I hope they both come through OK.
I'm sorry I missed that! I really hope he pulls through. Thanks for your prayers!
Amen, Carolinamom! God bless them! Thanks for your prayers!
I've always liked this gal. Good reporter and good looking to boot.
Wasn't he sweet? Poor little guy. Her mother and dad seem like really nice people and her husband had on an Army t-shirt. I was surprised at the size of the liver piece they will be removing from her.
Our prayers are with both of them, Catherine is a great mother and reporter, in that order.
