But as to why the CC aren't putting this on their manifesto here - you make a good point. I guess the CC doesn't want to make the perfect the enemy of the good: they're concentrating on the completely obvious evils of Abortion/ Euthanasia etc

Semantics IMHO, the CC is not against contraception, abortion and euthanasia because they are evil; they are for anything which increases the global catholic population and against anything which reduces it. It's a simple numbers game in reality. People are always better off listening to the word of God, rather than the word of churches, whatever their name.
