To suggest that intelligent design may be a good explanation in cases where organized matter performs specific functions is not to "define" intelligent design. It is to suggest what it says on the face of it, and it is not inherently religious, sectarian, or unscientific to do so. Your opposition to the idea is not scientific, but emotional.

I am far from alone in deducing as much on the basis of evidence and all that science has to work with.

Your definition of "Intelligent Design" is not the definition used by proponents in public school districts. Your continued denials do not change this fact.

Your opposition to the idea is not scientific, but emotional.

You have yet to demonstrate that your claims are scientific.

Re 54: where organized matter performs specific functions....opposition to the idea is not scientific, but emotional.

I was watching a salt crystal grow. It is highly organized matter. Near as I can tell, its function is to attach more sodium and chloride ions to itself as it grows. It has been quite successful at this--it started out as a 'seed' about 1/2 mm across, when I first saw it (but it surely started much smaller), and now it is about 9 mm in all 3 dimensions. I am sure from science courses that this crystal is highly organized. Whether it has many emotions, I have no way of knowing.

Perhaps you will exccuse me if I am skeptical that "organized matter" is proof of God or the foundation of morality.
