You know what "they" say... The terrorists only have to get it right once, we have to get it right 100% of the time. The most ridiculous, self-imposed handicap I've ever heard in my life. If I didn't know better, I'd say the people who imposed it actually want us to lose this war... Wait!... The people who imposed it in the final analysis was the left and its phony morality.
And then they can bounce around yelling that we should have listened to them.
The problem is that they aren't saying anything.
Based on the historical fact that we have been hit with major terror attacks three times on the US mainland in the past 15 years they have the weight of probability on their side.
But saying that is as worthless as my saying that at some point some dumb idiot is going to climb in to a lion's pen and get bit.
Based on past occurrences I have a high probability of being right. But is it actually useful? Do I have some inside knowledge? Would listening to me prevent it?
No.

This is the most hopeful thing I heard in a while. The person who turned these terrorists in did more for tolerence of Muslims than CAIR ever could

Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. I have no time for CBS because the non-stop coverage of the Hurricane Season on The Weather Channel has kept me awake since last Monday.
Uh, this was front page news in Los Angeles for a week, and here on FR.

Do we think its at all possible that the recent laptop thefts (one belonging to a hotel.com employee and another from a military analyst) containing the personal information of thousands of Americans could be linked to any of this?

The idiot Jihadi's who have sown to the wind will certainly reap the whirlwing that they will have no capacity to endure or survive.
But between now and then, they are hell bent on creating as much death, destruction and chaos as possible.
And disconnected, self created and motivated idiological 'brothers' with Osama are not going to be so easy to stay on top of, imho.
Also on a somewhat related issue we are also long over due for a commerical airline disaster. The last one was in November of 2001.
I still worry about our schools ever since that school bus incident a few weeks ago.

Personally I have been astounded that we have not had any suicide bombing events here on our soil.
I remember right after 911, and the subsequent ANTHRAX attack, I told my wife that we are now on the front lines and that there will be many more less spectacular attacks in short order. I was referring to suicide bombers in malls, theaters, casinos and the like.
When [not if] they happen, if they are coordinated in a methodical fashion with TERRORIZING our citizens as the PRIMARY PURPOSE, who knows how our nation will respond?
Surely it will TEST our METTLE as a nation. I have little faith we will come together, however, because it only took 3 weeks after 911 for the LEFTISTS to start their incessant COUNTER ATTACKS, not on the enemy BUT on conservatives in general and the President in particular.
WE WILL SEE!!
