UPDATE: Still no word of locating the baby, but a woman matching the description arrested on other charges (a stolen car, I think) last night at Lubbock Heart Hospital is being held as a person of interest.

Local news reports the hospital staff thought the woman was a friend of the mother. Sure, this unknown woman in hospital scrubs, looking every bit a nurse, is constantly going in and out of the room and the floor nurse doesn't bother asking questions???

Wouldn't the maternity ward have had video cameras? Could they get a picure of her from them?

(I ask because when I had my son at Paoli Memorial, here in PA, there were video cameras by the elevators, stairs and the entrance doors to the ward -- which you could nbot get through without showing ID.)

The child was abducted elswhere, but a good picture might help.

Prayers for the newborrn and her family. I can't imagine how awful...

On Sunday, the woman visited the mother and child at their home.

I've never had a baby, but my sister has had three. Not once has a nurse visited her and the girls at home. All my mommy co-workers say the same thing . . . no health care professional "visits" you at home. If you contract for home health care, that's different, but that's not a visit.

Something smells odd here.

This sounds so strange to me... the couple are very young, and some nut case realized that and played on this young couple. Hope they find her and the baby soon.

Here's another version I googled up..

"On Sunday, the woman asked to take the baby to her brother's house, the Texas Department of Public Safety said. Ysasaga refused, instead going along and bringing the baby and her 2-year-old son, the Department of Public Safety said.

The four were returning to Ysasaga's home when the woman disappeared with Priscilla while the mother was distracted by her son, police Lt. Roy Bassett said".

I have just heard they are telling hospitals in El Paso to watch for this lady who they think has the baby.

Prayers up for the baby to be found and the kidnapper arrested, charged and convicted.

This Lubbock mother may be fortunate to be alive, if the kidnapper is a nutcase like that Lisa Montgomery a few years ago. She made friends with a pregnant woman, pretending to be interested in buying a dog of the kind the pregnant woman's family was breeding, then eventually went to their house and killed the woman, did a C-section on her and stole the baby because she had been lying to her husband about being pregnant. The baby survived.

Not long before that one, there was a similar case in Oklahoma where a nutjob befriended a pregnant woman and then killed her to get the baby - but she was only 6 months pregnant and the baby died. The perp took the dead baby to the hospital, saying it was hers.
