If this CNN photo really shows what it was stated to show, that is, a set of gadgets seized from those apprehended, Canadian LE will have no problem whatsoever convincing any jury that these guys were terrorists intent on destroying parts of Canada.

Since I believe that is so, I beg to differ: it is over.

The multimeter,soldering iron and batteries are commonnly found in the homes of a million electronic enthusiasts.

A box containing large batteries,a cellphone and room for or igniters is a terrorist device.

The soldering iron, multimeter, and handgun will be in many American homes. Not suspicious.

The kluge with the cellphone and battery pack, though, looks pretty fishy. Even if those are C cells and not D cells, that's a lot of oomph for modern electronics, which can run quite well on two CR0032 cells. Something in that setup was expected to draw some current.

Combine that with more AN than McVeigh had, and I think that's probable cause for at least a look-see.
