I do not, and never will, support spelling "amendment" with two "m"s.

I would support an amendment that bans homosexual marriage but not the amendment that's being voted on in the Senate. It allows states to grant civil unions.

Oh, and the amendment won't pass anyway. 67 votes are needed and there might be 58, but probably less.

No. Moreso no since that disaster of a President, George Bush, is trying to use this as a ruse to get the "conservative base" to the polls in November to vote for Republicans.
There are some BIG things that Bush and the Republican Congress has completely flopped on during their miserable tenure:
Federal Spending
Tax reform
Social Security Reform
Illegal Immigration
On top of that, I think it is extremely dangerous having something in the US Constitution how to live their lives. The US Constitution is a limit on government, not the people -- even if their lifestyle is one that most people disagree with or condemn.

We are in greater need of a Citizen Privacy Amendment.

It allows states to grant civil unions.Hmm, so you would prefer to give more power to the government vs to the states (since gay marriage is already handled by the 10th Amendment and most states have or are defining marriage as between a man and a woman). Hmmm, ok so you're Republican and not conservative.

voted, but unless DU really runs with this one, I don't see a poll by an Iowa paper registering a lot of support for the gay agenda - this isn't San Fransisco.

Until we can get some of these guys replaced with true conservatives, I'm ok with nothing passing thru the senate. I would rather see them ineffective than destructive. I pray the House continues to stand strong.

I support homosexual incest in Massachusetts only. Massachusetts may be the only safe haven for pederasts left on the continent. Such an elitist designation is something we should aspire to. Sarc
