Judges, Taxcuts, War on Terror. On those issues alone he has more then earned your loyalty. You don't get to demand 100% of what you personally want as the price of loyalty. That is a "It's all about me" mindset, not a rational Adult position. Loyalty has to go up and down the chain. YOU don't get to demand loyalty when you refuse to give it.

It depends on the issue and its importance to not only the party, but the nation. Immigration reform is more important than tax cuts and judges, which Bush could not have achieved without the loyalty and support of the Rep controlled Congress. Why has Bush aligned himself with Ted Kennedy, John McCain, and 39 other Dem senators against 32 Rep Senators from his own party? Why has he dissed the House bill supported by 203 Rep Congressmen?

Then you assume that your polling data presented by your side is accurate. Sorry I don't. I suspect that was why your position was not able to get more then 40 votes in the US Senate.

On the key achievements of the Bush admiministration, take a look at the Senate votes and see who supported them. It has been the Senate conservatives that have been there when the rubber met the road, not the RINOs and the Dems.

See you people never read beyond the 1st line. People agree with you on the problem, they do NOT line up nearly as well with you on solutions. When polled on solutions, as always, the American people are all over the board. They want Border Enforcement, they want something done about illegals, but they also do not want to do anything to restrict immigrants. They ethos of a "nation of immigrants" simply runs too deep. So you people look at the numbers and scream "See 55-60-72-86 (what ever the manufactured number is today) agree with US, Illegal Immigration is a problem. WE all agree on that.

So what PEOPLE are you? Are you suggesting that we govern by polls?

There is a difference between illegal immigration and legal immigration. The American people you are so fond of citing are not in favor of increasing legal immigration or rewarding all illegals with citizenship. Also, most of the American public is not informed about what the Senate bill even contains or its implications. I can cite you all kinds of polls that you might not be so eager to embrace.

However, the picture is not nearly so clear when you start asking people what the solution is. See the problem is your side simply does not listen to any view that does agree with their position. You have that luxury. People in positions of leadership in this country do not. They are the Representatives of ALL the people, not just the "Only strict enforcement is acceptable" crowd.

LOL. It is not a "luxury" to express an opinion, it is my right. I will side with the 32 Rep and 4 Dems who voted against the Senate bill and the 203 Reps and 36 Dems who voted for the House bill. We are part of the enforcement FIRST crowd. There is no urgency for comprehensive immigration reform and the security of our borders should not be held hostage to it.

also like to remind all the "Poll Conservatives" that CFR, Medicare RX, The Education Bill, Farm Subsides and a whole host of things you loath also poll very well.

I thought Bush said he wouldn't govern by polls. There are certain things that transcend partisan politics, e.g., McCain-Feingold. The abridgement of political speech should be of concern to everyone. Bush noted the constitutional flaws in the legislation and still signed it.

You don't get to claim "the polls prove us right" only when they happen to agree with you then scream about "Selling out" when the Pols do stuff you disagree with that polls well. If the position is to be dictated by polls, those of you citing polls now have ceded up your right to disagree when the polls go against you. After all, according to you the polls "prove" the correct position on this issue.

I am not enamored with polls because they can be manipulated so easily, especially when most of the people are so ill-informed by the MSM and our schools. Most of the American people, according to the polls, want us out of Iraq. Bush has low poll ratings. Should he alter his course on national security issues because the polls say so?

However, we are not a Direct Democracy but a Constitutional Republic. You hired them to represent you. Don't like the job they are doing, you can fire them next election. In the interim, just because YOU feel something should be done one way does not give you veto authority over what they do. They represent ALL the people in their district, state or the nation, NOT just those who agree with YOU.

Your disjointed rant doesn't make any sense. You are creating some phony strawman and then attacking it. I am not asking for any veto authority over my representatives in Congress. I have the right as a constituent to express my opinion to him/her on various issues. I can write, telephone, fax, or email them whenever I want. They can do whatever they want. They are held accountable by their constituents through the electoral process, including in some places recall.

What you seem to what is unconditional loyalty to the President and support him on every issue regardless of your own personal beliefs and principles. Just as I can't expect the President to be 100% in agreement with me on the issues, he can't expect me to be 100% in agreement with him. In the case of immigration, the majority of the GOP Reps in Congress don't support the President's position. He is the odd man out, not them.

There has been some revisionist history that Kamel told the debriefers that all of the biological and chem weapons had been destroyed after the war in 1991, but the information was kept secret in hopes that Saddam would disclose more information about hidden WMD. The sudden visit to the chicken farm seems to indicate otherwise.

The bullet hole shown in the video on the little boy's back has already been commented on that it could very well NOT cause paralysis, by several vets.

I'm not questioning this in a hostile way, but I'd really be interested in seeing these comments so that I can evaluate them.  I was an EMT and drove ambulances for a living in and around NY City in the mid 70s.  I also have extensive knowledge of this topic from my involvement with my friend (the brother of my brother's first wife, who are both still members of our family) and his injuries and I want to know how this would be possible.

This injury clearly looked to be in the C5 to T1 region, which is described in the literature as:

C5 to T1. These dermatomes are all situated in the arms. C5 covers the lateral arm at and above the elbow. C6 covers the forearm and the radial (thumb) side of the hand. C7 is the middle finger, C8 is the lateral aspects of the hand, and T1 covers the medial side of the forearm.

So if my view of the location of the "bullet wound" is accurate this kid would be a quad, at best.  I agree with your assessment, this looks more like a burn than a bullet wound and the exit wound question just cannot be ignored.  If he'd been shot in the back within the confines of a room within a house by a US Marine carrying an M16 variant at the site indicated there would be not only the entry wound shown in the video but an exit wound in the front of the chest and one very dead child.

Now, a ricochet or some other indirect injury is something else, but that gets back to the description of the incident by these "witnesses" and the total lack of evidence of bullet holes on the exterior of the structures in question.

The "evidence" doesn't pass the smell test.

I have no idea where I'd find those comments about that wound, nor who exactly made them : (

But I remember being surprised by them-they were speaking about friends in combat situations in 'Nam. And so then I thought if it had passed next to the spinal column, into the muscle, that would be understandable.

But no exit wound? Poop.

Thanks. (I love it when a plan comes together.)

One thing about hanging out on FR is we know there will some expert on almost any issue who can validate or debunk media reports. Including our own if wrong.

Newspaper editors and media producers must be going nuts as these things are questioned and often exposed as either misleading or outright lies.

I know the feeling.  If you ever bump into those posts I'd be interested. I don't doubt that it's possible (I've seen stranger) but it's not credible to me in this case, given the "wound" I saw and my own experiences, but as you mention, the lack of an exit wound makes the question moot.

I want to see a "full Rather" done on this "evidence."  How do we know it wasn't faxed/emailed to the media from a Kinkos in Texas?

I saw the so-called wound last week when Anderson Cooper's show had the story on and both my husband and myself looked at each other and shook our heads; first of all it looked too healed to be so recent and the area was one that should have produced paralysis and this little boy was not paralyzed in the least.

It was probably Pittsburgh.

If I run into them again, I'll forget who wanted them! LOL!

But really, my very first thought was that this looked like a cigarette burn. A good compare and contrast might be in order.

If Arnold signs the new election law California is trying to pass and if they can get the big states -- like Florida -- to go along with them who knows how the next election is going to go...

BTW It's being pushed by people like Biden, Feingold, Durbin...

"Juan (or Helen, Nina, CiCi, etc.), you ignorant slut" prior to making his rebuttals. /grin

Back in the day, I used that line on one of my employees whom I liked and joked with often, but she was too young to get the joke. I even said it Ackroyd style, so as convey the jokiness of it, but I got called in by HR, nonethelss. I said; "let me ask you a question, have you ever heard of SNL and Weekend Update with Dan and Jane Curtin?. Thank God they remembered the line. At the end of the dayit all worked out, with al due respect. LOL
