Okay.  I'll take my smack-down like a man and appreciate your comments.  As phsstpok says:  (Often wrong, but never in doubt) so  I will take your word for it.

The last time I was at Ramstein was 1990 so it does not apply, but airmen I knew quit the force citing Clinton as one reason in talking to them later, as an aside.

I also understand the track to general/admiral, having a relative leave after being passed over. It had nothing to do with politics as we view it here.  It was more of a matter of in service politics.  Most of the officers I've met are conservative but most tend to be more apolitical rather than active in political parties.  My comment was more directed to the likes of Wesley Clark, specifically, and the now retired generals who are most critical of the changes taking place today.

And why no news about this? [casualty count for May]

You probably answered your own question - the number must not be one that pleases the drive-by media.

You are probably closer to what will happen than I am. It just seems like these things take a lot longer than anticipated and things seem to be going on behind the scenes that we are not aware of, which can change direction and timelines.

When's the last time you heard someone fail to use "hard" with "work" or "working".

Hillary Clinton said it just recently. Guess they thought it would connect with the Baby Boomers if they had here go out and rant and rave about "This Generation doesn't know how to work hard". Note to general public. EVERY generation says that. It called Mechanization and Automation. We work less hard then our parents because we have MACHINES that do most of he hard work for us. So did they and so did their parents. Have to go back to about the mid 1800s or so to find a truly muscle powered American culture.

I always laugh when I hear people talk about "hard work" What out troops do is "hard work". The rest of us got it easy no matter how much we like to kid ourselves about how "hard working" we are.

I'm going to make an allegation of my own...that those slain Iraqis must have known about the explosives planted near their homes, and w/their silence and failure to warn the Liberators of their country, they were guilty of setting up our victim Marines.

I went to a private school for a year back in my high school days in the late 60s / early 70s.  Our spanish teacher had come back from a couple of tours in Military Intelligence in Vietnam (I know, that's a contradiction in terms).  He established his bona fides with me to that point that I belived what he told me about his experiences.  I've never found anything he told me to be contradicted by verified acccounts of the same incidents I've discovered elsewhere.  One story I've never been able to get any further information on was his flat out statement that all of the folks int he village of My Lai were VC (men, women and children) and the village was a thin veneer cover for a virtual underground city of VC combatants and arms depots.  I'm still not sure it justified what they did, but he was adamant that there were no "innocents" in My Lai.

One odd thing about him that added to his credibility.  He had stickers everywhere that said "Charlie's listening."

I still find it hard to believe Weasely Clark made 4 stars. I mean besides being from Little Rock and a Rhodes Scholar (ala Bubba) what had/s he to offer? He reminds me of the obnoxious polka loving Lt in Good Morning Viet Nam. Major Dork, and shifty eyes to boot. Just no rhyme or reason why he made rank! Talk about the Peter Principle.

Here's the into to Mark Kilmer's review of this Sunday's shows over at RedState

The Sunday Show Review

Sunday, June 4, 2006

On Meet the Press, Tim Russert asked Joe Biden the questions he must have wanted to be asked, phrased in the way that Biden wanted them phrased. Not all of the questions even had valid predicates, and this resembled an early Biden '08 commercial. Joe Biden needs the boost.

On FNS, Secretary of State Rice spoke highly of British Foreign Minister Margaret Beckett and her explanation of the "two tracks" for Iran. She also said that she expects Iraq to settle on a Defense Minister and an Interior Minister "in the next few days."

Also on FNS, Lindsey Graham called the incident at Haditha, if proven, the "kind of thing that happens in every war." Jack Reed said that it was indicative of a larger problem, implying that our troops were plundering in the manner of JEN-jiss Khan™.

Call Naomi Wolf! On TW, after reverting to his pedantic monotone, abandoning his recent psychotic rants, Al Gore said he would make no "Shermanesque statement."

I missed CBS' Face the Nation this week, as it was pre-empted locally by a Children's Miracle Network Celebration telethon. Schieffer and Mike Duffy interviewed Condoleezza Rice.

On LE, Wolf Blitzer asked Secretary Rice why she had offered direct talks with Iran if they would abandon their nuclear enrichment program. He wondered why she didn't demand that they stop supporting terrorism, and she explained that the overture was in the context of the enrichment program only. It wasn't a restoration of relations.

On LE, George Allen indicated that terrorists strike where they have in the past, while Karl Levin charged that the U.S. had made payments to the families of the Haditha victims.

Read on for the show-by-show review.

Well, this is a pretty damning comment:

On Meet the Press, Tim Russert asked Joe Biden the questions he must have wanted to be asked, phrased in the way that Biden wanted them phrased. Not all of the questions even had valid predicates

And this seems to be an emerging attack point that the administration is already trying to hit back on:

Secretary of State Rice... also said that she expects Iraq to settle on a Defense Minister and an Interior Minister "in the next few days."

I don't know but there are plenty of conspiracy theories. There seem to be a few things in his background that are questionable.

I've had it with the Sunday talk shows. Except for Brit Hume, every one of the so-called "journalists" and "experts" on these shows is low-life lying whore who is not worth a pile of moldy festering crap.

I remember back in 97-98-or 99 bill clinton developing a team to go into Iran and Christiane Amanpour was to play a large part, she being Iranian.

I can't remember if that ever developed.

#393, that sounds exactly the strategy that was used by CLinton on Newt and Trent Lott. Lie and promise, and kissy kissy behind closed doors, then come out and talk to the MSM/DNC and weasel and condemn the other side. When do you believe a LIAR? You never, ever, ever believe a liar. We are getting a terrible hail/Monsoon,severe storm here in Central Florida. My flag just got blown out of it's cement base and is lying on the ground. I have not seen winds this strong and flipping, swirling around since Wilma last year. It looked like it was gone but is circling around again. yikes, my poor Citrus trees.

When Clinton visited Johns Hopkins Hospital, attendance was compulsory for the House Staff, and they were even told to show up in white lab coats. Could the Clinton's be accused of staging photo-ops? Naah!
