The Talk Shows
Sunday, June 4th, 2006
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice; Sens. Jack Reed, D-R.I., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del.; former U.N. chief weapons inspector Hans Blix.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Former Vice President Al Gore; author John Updike.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Rice; Blix; Sens. George Allen, R-Va., and Carl Levin, D-Mich.
Well, I guess I missed Allen, which was the only thing I really ws trying to see today, and all because I was helping clean out the tool shed! And does anyone have to come help me clean out closets? NO!
Grumble, grumble, grumble.
Back to Fox. CNN is getting ready to do an hour-long report on Haditha and I refuse to listen to THAT.
I've almost accepted the fact that it'll take another terrorist attack here, (or close to home) before this debate gets reframed properly.
This could really get confusing to the fast food industry: Small, Medium, Buff!
I'll have a double whopper and a buff diet coke, please.
Now Morgan, rest assured it's not like that. The military survived the Clinton era. Very few of the retired generals are on the left anyway. Very, very few.
Say the country is split 35% right, 35% left, and 30% don't care. Well, the military, and the officer corps especially, is probably 70% right; 20% left, and 10% don't care. The reason for this is they know their lives are at stake when it comes to those who dictate power (politicians) and can easily see that the Left is anti-America and anti-military, which puts them in greater danger when the balloon finally goes up.
There will always be, however, the few who are just power hungry and will climb over folks for the chance to lead. These are generally weeded out of the system by the majority who care. Some still slip through, and the Clintons saw they got placed highly, but even so, the Clintons hate/hated the military and only focused on it when the polls showed they had to. Mostly the military was ignored during their reign. We suffered greatly because of this on Sept 11, 2001.
Just like they supported our troops during Vietnam....
My son said he saw a funny on on a big truck the other day.
SOMETIMES WAR IS THE ANSWER YOU STUPID HIPPY
Well, now I have to start getting ready for my granddaughter's dance recital. It will take up all afternoon, and her dancing doesn't come until near the end. Sigh.
The files and collective memories of Freepers never fail to have the FACTS. LOL
Amen special award coming up
We'll stay right here and solve the world's problems....should have it about fixed by the time you get back. Enjoy.
I saw a sticker the other day that made my day: "Hillary, Shut Up"
Agreed kabar.
Sometimes we get incredibly frustrated with GWB. It seems he never quite does what we want him to do. We always shoot for that 100% mark and are never quite satisfied with 60% that we sometimes get. He hasn't balanced the budget, he won't wall up the border and now what in the world will we do in Iran? Is it another cluster...?
Just maybe not, especially if you read opinion Journal in a piece written by Nancy de Wolf Smith and linked to me by that wizard of all geniuses Ali Veritas, you will find it here:

In an interview with the son of former Shaw of Iran Reza Pahlavi, when asked what to do about Iran Pahlavi states the following, "that can only mean intense pressure on the regime...support for the proponents of Democracy (within Iran)and human rights in Iran. There is no other answer."
Is it possible GWB is engaging in another rope-a-dope?Right now students are demonstrating and dying in large numbers against the current regime in Iran. The US is not interfering. Could GWB be letting Iran's brutal regime self destruct while he calls for negotiation? Could be. Time will tell.
On yet another front, the present regime in Venezuela has tried to export their brand of communism/socialism all over Central and S. America. Has Bush rope-a-doped Chavez by letting him hang himself in several countries? It looks like it. In the Sandinista land of Nicaragua where Ortega dares not ally himself with Chavez he had to get a Conservative pro-America VP. Same in Mexico where the recent liberal lead by Commiies has evaporated as they too allied with Chavez and made the wrong Mexicons mad, same in Brazil and other countries.
Bottom line GWB may be much smarter than many of us give him credit for. Therefore I will once again stop second guessing his efforts and sit back and watch the action a little bit more.
We shall see. If she wins the primaries, there is very little they can do. If it comes down to supporting Hillary versus a Rep, the publications [I presume you mean the MSM] will support Hillary.
They have valuable lessons in Gore and Kerry.
Gore won the popular vote and many Dems still cling to the fiction that SCOTUS and the GOP stole the election from them.
As far as Kerry is concerned, the Dems voted for him vice Dean because they thought he was electable. Kerry came close. He received 9 million votes more than Gore and the second most for any Presidential candidate in American history. He lost the electoral vote narrowly. Again the Dems thought that the GOP stole the election in Ohio through fraud.
I think the many of Hillary's possible Dem opponents are part of the cabal against her along with the DNC. She is the front runner and they are, with the help of the MSM, pushing the idea that she can't win to help dry up her money raising, which is suffocating the rest of the field. Hillary was the topic this morning on MTP and Fox news. For the MSM it is Hillary all the time, favorable and unfavorable.
It's gonna take more than a shoot-out to wake this nation up. I just hope there's enough of us left when 'it' happens... and that the survivors take no prisoners.
