Isn't this lovely? Just like our 'friends' the Ruskies flooded Africa with their despicable weapons , transforming it for decades into one of the most heinous and murderous places on Earth , now they are beginning to repeat the pattern in S.A. Are we going to just let this happen?

I can hear the joke after Hugo tries to invade one of his neighbors and is slapped down like the little bitch that he is:

Wanna buy a Venezuelan rifle? Never been shot and only dropped once!

I think these are the "seconds" when it comes to craftsmanship. Most of them will probably not function right.

He could probably march right in and take a third of Guyana. If he takes much more he might run into northbound Brazilians.

Hugo Chavez looked into Putin's soul and he saw 100,000 kalashnikovs.

Are we going to just let this happen?

If he wants to waste money buying guns, let him. A decade from now and we'll be able to buy some good, cheap, Venezuelan AK's at gun shows.

Is it just me or does Russia support the same sorts of governments Iran, Venezula, Saddam Hussein's Iraq, Sudan---- that the USSR did?

This was a solid assault rifle, for its day. But its day has long passed. Hugo was hoodwinked on this one. Yeah, they may be used in the future to kill their neighbors, but against the US, the Kalashnikovs' are of little threat.

Yeah, but why would he want to?

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I'm going to order a Romanian AK this weekend just kind of for the heck of it. Olympic Arms has a nice package for less than $500.00.

It comes with a case, sling, oiler, bayonet, 2 mags and a mag pouch all for the low, low price of $439.00. I just don't think I can pass it up.

I had an AK once long ago and sold it when I really needed some cash. I promised myself I'd buy another because, well they're just plain fun to shoot. Ammoman has 1000 round cases of 7.62 X 39 ammo for like 129.00 delivered. Hell, I can't load them myself that cheap.

Without ammo, the are just expensive spears or clubs.

Russia is supplying arms to countries that are shelling out big bucks. We can't blame them for conducting business.

We do the same damned thing.

I guess the Monroe Doctrine is dead now, Russian arms, Chinese inroads, sounds like open season on Latin America.

Outdated , no way .These are the updated caliber series as well, still very potent . These are fine small arms that will last a very long time with little maintenance, as opposed to our very own M4/M16 series which require a constant maint/support program . Nothing to laugh off , he made a quality purchase . Now we will see his old military weapons turning up in the less wealthy leftist SA countries .
