Are we going to just let this happen?

If he wants to waste money buying guns, let him. A decade from now and we'll be able to buy some good, cheap, Venezuelan AK's at gun shows.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I'm going to order a Romanian AK this weekend just kind of for the heck of it. Olympic Arms has a nice package for less than $500.00.

It comes with a case, sling, oiler, bayonet, 2 mags and a mag pouch all for the low, low price of $439.00. I just don't think I can pass it up.

I had an AK once long ago and sold it when I really needed some cash. I promised myself I'd buy another because, well they're just plain fun to shoot. Ammoman has 1000 round cases of 7.62 X 39 ammo for like 129.00 delivered. Hell, I can't load them myself that cheap.

If and only if that notorious 1986 machine-gun ban gets repealed.

If you mean Venezuelan AK parts kits (minus receiver) maybe. If you mean full blown Venezuelan AK's I wouldn't count on it, even if the '86 machine gun ban is overturned (highly unlikely) they will still be NFA items and NFA is never cheap. Registered machine guns can cost as little as a car and as much as a house.
