This is my first vanity, so please indulge me.
Dixie Chicks tour tickets went on sale today to the public in many market and it's starting to look a disaster, especially in the Red States.
There were initial indications that internet pre-sale ticket sales were going badly last week, but this confirms the news.
A review of seat availabilities on Ticketmaster indicate first-day and pre-sale ticket sales for the portly traitors are:
Detroit-Bad
Pittsburgh-Disaster
Philadelphia-Bad
Boston-Almost Sold Out
Wash. DC.-Selling Well
Chicago-Selling Well
Minneapolis-Bad
Fargo-Meltdown Disaster
Glendale, AZ-Bad
Omaha-Disaster
Denver-Disaster
Dallas-Disaster
Nashville-Meltdown Disaster
Tampa-Meltdown Disaster
Sunrise, FL-Meltdown Disaster
Atlanta-Selling Okay
Tacoma-Disaster
More venues go on-sale in the next week. California will probably go well for the cows, but the rest of the U.S. seems to be saying that the Chicks will be playing to half-empty arenas.
Well Dallas isn't the country... I'll tell you this, I have yet to hear a single new Dixie Chix song on either country radio station here in Pittsburgh.
I guess time will tell.
Oh I'm not dillusional enough to think that the Chix won't make money touring.. but I would definately bet you they make less this tour than on their last one.
Many Entertainers are idiots.. you are paid to step and fetch for the audience... when you open your mouth and start espousing BS you are just alienating your audience...
These guys made it even worse by saying "we are through with country music"... but here they are a few years later begging country music fans to pay them...
Their idiocy is going to hurt them.. no they won't be destitute, but they won't be making as much as they used to.
Goodbye Earl
Come back with the same kind of article after they actually play the shows, and it might mean something.
"I hear the Chicks will be opening up for a puppet show at some venue..."
LOL, we have a Spinal Tap fan in the house!
Is it so bad that they'll have to cancel shows?
"LOL, we have a Spinal Tap fan in the house!"
Yes, Indeed!
No sellouts so far for the new tour. They sold out 51 venues on their last tour on the first day. The silence from the MSM is deafening...

The Dixie Chicks can do some major clucking now.
After winning three Grammys last month, including Best Country Album for Home, the hit-making trio winged their way to a record over the weekend, selling an unprecedented 867,000 tickets for their upcoming Top of the World arena tour in just one day.
All told, the Chicks--Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire--sold out an astonishing 51 of 59 venues for the North American leg of the tour on Saturday.
"That's awesome business. There are very few tours that actually go up on sale with all their dates at once and to have that kind of response across the country is a huge compliment to their career," said Gary Bongiovanni, editor
Its official. They are postponing dates on the tour due to low sales! They say its because of an overwhleming response they have received in Canada and and England. But we know better!
ROFLMAO!
Concert update: The Dixie Chicks
Posted: June 6, 2006
The Chicks are re-routing their summer concert tour, which likely will change the date of their Bradley Center concert originally planned for Aug. 13, a spokeswoman for the venue said Tuesday afternoon. Tickets for the show were tentatively set to go on sale Saturday; that on-sale date will be delayed. Bradley Center officials were awaiting further information from the band Tuesday.

Chicks postponing dates in:
Milwaukee
St. Louis
Indianapolis
Looks like we can add Kansas City to the postponed list.
Philly & Pittsburgh are not red state places.
Yeah, as I've heard on the MSM, the Dixie Chicks are back!
I'd like to take that little traitor blond spikey haired wanna-be who's the lead singer, and put her in a room with Alec Baldwin, and play video of the 9-11 carnage over, and over, and over again.
What about Des Moines? Is their concert postponed here too? Iowa being a red state (barely) will have mixed sales.
"Hello, Cleveland!"
