This is my first vanity, so please indulge me.
Dixie Chicks tour tickets went on sale today to the public in many market and it's starting to look a disaster, especially in the Red States.
There were initial indications that internet pre-sale ticket sales were going badly last week, but this confirms the news.
A review of seat availabilities on Ticketmaster indicate first-day and pre-sale ticket sales for the portly traitors are:
Detroit-Bad
Pittsburgh-Disaster
Philadelphia-Bad
Boston-Almost Sold Out
Wash. DC.-Selling Well
Chicago-Selling Well
Minneapolis-Bad
Fargo-Meltdown Disaster
Glendale, AZ-Bad
Omaha-Disaster
Denver-Disaster
Dallas-Disaster
Nashville-Meltdown Disaster
Tampa-Meltdown Disaster
Sunrise, FL-Meltdown Disaster
Atlanta-Selling Okay
Tacoma-Disaster
More venues go on-sale in the next week. California will probably go well for the cows, but the rest of the U.S. seems to be saying that the Chicks will be playing to half-empty arenas.

The point of the DaVinci Code is that moviegoers ignored the reviews and saw the movie anyway.
And what is happening with the Chick's right now is that Red State America is ignoring the fawning reviews of the liberal media and blowing off the chicks. The Red State sales are a disaster. It's not just that they're not sold out. But that in certain markets that sold out in an hour last tour, 90% of the tickets are still available right now.

They have been advertising this concert non stop in Atlanta. The Atlanta concert still has prime lower level seats available as of this post. I tried multiple times to see what kind of seats were available at Philips Arena and I had different lower level close to stage seats options with each try.
As a note of comparison, The American Idol concert sold out withing minutes of going on sale. A second concert was added and that too sold out immediately.

Compared to the other Red States, Atlanta sales are going well for the Clucks...

They will probably give tickets away at the last minute to make the numbers look good. The short fat chick really screwed it for them.

Cool. I listen to Imus in the Morning. (So sue me)
He has played some of their unlistenable music - but has been getting some good shots off, as well.

Michael Jordan once said "Republicans buy shoes too." Michael has something between his ears other than, uh, brown fluff.

You know the thing that really irks me about this -- the ChixwithDix weren't being "brave" saying what they said. Truth is, they never thought they would be busted.
They thought they'd get away with it like every other American-bashing entertainers overseas.
They were wrong.

90% unsold? That is bad. I retract my skepticism!

Post of the thread right there.

Heck, I'm just glad to see original FReepers sticking with us after all these years. Fear was I had bored them to death with all my posts.
Thanks for the good news!

I have a pal who happens to be a liberal. I'm beginning to lose hope for him. He sent me an email with the arrticle about the Skanks opening at #1 for album sales. My response was that why would you believe anything where a liberal media and a liberal recording industry is concerned. He stated the Billboard numbers are actual individual sales and not store orders. Can anyone validate that? Again, I smell BS...

Shhhhhh, keep this quiet. The Agency for the Chicks contacted Hershey to be on the tour. They would have a rural audience from Lancaster, Carlisle, York, etc., PA, traditionally Chicks customers.
Hershey told the agent, NO THANK YOU. (Inside Info, and true).

The Chicks early music was really, really good. Their last album was a sleeper, meaning, you didn't even want to have sex with that crap in the background.
I will admit their raw talent. Yes, they can sing. As Laura Ingram would say, "Shut Up And Sing".
Shhhhh, I watch Imus In The Morning Too, between snoozes.
