I am amazed at the surprise that's being shown. They've been reporting muzzie trianing camps in the U.S. for years. Canada and the U.S. have continued the policy of letting radical clerics into the countries not to mention the thousands of "student" visas that are granted every year where the visa holder immediately dissapears never to be seen again.
Our countries are not being protected as they should and it's going to come back and bite us. We are paying billions for the DHS and the various intelligence agencies every year. The respective governments will immediately say "see, we told you, we need more money and laws to keep you safe", and like the good lemmings we are we will bob our heads and shuffle our feet and say "yessir".

I've looked over on DU, and there is nothing, except ONE thread, with only this comment:

So, apparently Canadian police have foiled an 'al-Qaeda' inspired bomb plot.
Is that anything like those fake purses that are 'Gucci inspired', or 'Kate Spade' inspired?
This certainly is reminder why these fools don't belong in power.

Twelve people arrested last night across the GTA have been charged with terror-related offences, the RCMP said this morning.
Six of those arrested are from Mississauga, two from Kingston and four from Toronto.
Three tons of the fertilizer ammonium nitrate were seized in relation to the alleged plot, three times as much as was used in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.
The TTC was not a target, the RCMP says.

Just three days ago, Sun columnist Joe Warmington wrote about two men spotted filming the subway system on May 23 at Keele station, which raised alarm bells with Toronto Police and CSIS. It makes one wonder how many that aren't dumb there are out there that they aren't catching.

and for what it's costing the border states alone to allow illegals to stay here ANNUALLY; we could build TWO WALLS, one for each border!

I thought that the Canadiens were all sensitive and liberal and therefore were immune to the naughty terrorists. Indeed. This may toss a real wrench of sorts into their "utopian multicultural society."
For everyone else that's onto the deal, this is a good development. The more nations that begin to fear and get utterly pissed off at direct threats to their lives, the better.

Great work by the Mounties! At least initially, it looks as if great detective work caused Canada to dodge a major bullet.
Now, interrogate the @#^! out of them and round up some more.

No 9/11 terrorists crossed Canadian border to U.S.
Stephen Brereton
Guest essayist
(April 7, 2006) I am writing in response to the editorial ("The other border") that appeared in the Democrat and Chronicle on April 4, which erroneously stated that "several of the 9/11 hijackers came across the Canadian border into the United States." This is simply not true.
Following the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, then-Attorney General John Ashcroft confirmed that "None of the terrorists from the September 11 carnage came to the United States through Canada." Indeed, the 9/11 Commission report detailed how the hijackers entered the United States with valid U.S. visas and none from Canada.
Since 9/11, Canada has been working closely with the United States to prevent terrorism both around the world and at our common borders. Canada has been singled out by al-Qaeda as one of its targets. That's why Canada has deployed more than 2,200 soldiers to help Afghans rebuild their country and keep it free from terrorists.
At our frontiers, Canada and the United States have developed Integrated Border Enforcement Teams, made up of law enforcement officials at all levels from both countries, to share intelligence on potential threats of terrorism and impede illegal activities, such as smuggling.
There are 15 IBET regions from the Pacific to the Atlantic coasts including one in the Niagara area, whose members I meet with regularly and who speak very highly of the on-the-ground cooperation between the two countries.
Perpetuating the myth that the 9/11 hijackers came through Canada distorts reasoned discussion on strengthening security, damaging the mutually beneficial relationships that are so important to the health of communities on both sides of the border.
Canada strongly favors careful analysis of new requirements for passports or passport-like cards for land borders. It is extremely important that we work together to get it right.
Brereton is Canadian consul general whose office is located in Buffalo.

"Sniping at ALL Canadians is tacky & insulting - to say the least!" I agree, serves no purpose.
I hope these arrests lead to many, many more after all their 'files' are checked. Excellent job Canadians.

Not just the (southern) border states.
Most states are shelling out big bucks for illegals to stay here.
I just get annoyed when "border security" focuses only on our southern border. If people don't think we have illegal crossings from Canada as well, they are SORELY mistaken. And thus far, that border has been the choice of the ROP.

Don't try to tell people the truth...most don't want to hear it. They just want to mock Canada.

Anyway...it IS NOT the fault of Canada that the United States CAN'T CONTROL OUR OWN BORDERS. It ISSSSSSSSSSS the fault of the United States.

Let's just hope that none of Toronto's finest inadvertently stepped on a prayer mat while conducting this raid:
