Officers later found two loaded handguns taped to Dirie's inner thighs a Millennium PT 19mm and a .380 Calibre Jennings. In his socks they found a magazine for a semi-automatic handgun and "several rounds of ammunition," according to the court transcripts. In the meantime, we are treated to this and this from our air marshals.
BTW, I read in this story on the Drudge report that the "youths" had acquired three tons of ammonium nitrate. I would have thought all of our sophisticated tracking and ID procedures around the purchase would have been followed in Canada too, and so prevented this...

Based upon the totality of the media coverage I've read/heard, including the local stuff, it's pretty clear the cops were well aware of what these guys were up to for the better part of 2 years.
Why they waited as long as they did to finally spring the trap - who knows ???
Although, by bagging 17 of them - so far? -, it appears to have been a highly productive wait.
