Families living "paycheck to paycheck" need to stop spending and get a 2nd job, or a better job.

As one of those paycheck to paycheck families I completely agree with your solutions. I am already implementing the stop spending option. My current situation is entirely of my own doing. And the recovery from the current situation will be of my own doing.

And to Mssssss Pelosi's comments, I ask what is her solution?

Raise my taxes?

Democrats are the phoniest of the phonies.

"They can never see good in anything."

Me too. Ain't it the truth?
But when national embarassments like Carter or Clinton snuck in the back door, why, everything was roses! The homeless, housed, the shoe-less, shod, no one hungry. We `huffed-and-puffed' at those killing us, but we never really did anything . . .
And even the sky was bluer.

(heavy sarcasm)

What a dumbass.

If there was ever a time to keep your mouth shut about the economy it would be the day the unemployment rate dropped a point to 4.6%. The lowest rate since July 2001.

What a loon.

I'm sure she has a better plan. She's keeping it a secret till she's ready to divulge it in some spectacular manner. Oh I know. When Hillary runs in 08. The will come out holding hands at the Democratic convention and declare "THE PLAN". The audience will gasp in admiration. The MSM will Demand Pelosi's birthday become a national holiday. Bill Clinton will stand two steps behind Hillary, with tears welling up in his eyes.

One thing is for sure, the unemployment numbers would drop.

I doubt it. Anyone who wants a job now can get one. Problem is they don't want to work at Wendy's. Those restaurant and retail jobs in my area go begging.

We are as close to full employment as this country ever has been.

When did Witch Pelosi ever live paycheck to paycheck?? She has no clue what she's whining about. The woman needs tranquilizers and anti-psychotic meds. Is there a doctor in the house???

Your sarcasm is oh so true!

I'll never forget the months leading up to the '92 election. How it seemed everyone was homeless. But by January of '93 those homeless were housed and the shoeless were shod and all was forgotten as the great fornicator was now President.

Bump

I am glad that Pelosi is on the other side, she is not only a repugnant socialist liberal that appeal to less than 20% of the country, but she is an extremely stupid woman to make a statement like this.

The democrats are too dumb and too delusional to realize what the RNC is going to do them in the fall elections campaign. They are going to introduce Pelosi, Reid, Dean, Kennedy, Clinton etc… to the nation by using all the politically fatal statements they have made, and ask the simple question: “Do you want these people to be in charge of Congress?”. The majority of voters will say “Hell No” to these socialists, communists, abortionists, gay agenda sympathizers, and worst of all traitors.

It's very unfortunate that about half of the country eats this BS up! I have friends who are convinced the country's goin' in th toilet, and that it's all Bush and the Republican's fault. You can show them the facts, and they just can't accept them. Emotional nonsense!

Whenever the people talk about the unemployment rate dropping, they're really saying that one big factor is that people have been without work so long that they've dropped of the roll and don't have benefits!

Also, all those illegals might just be a factor...

"Well how about exporting around 11 million illegals from our economy and see if that helps those Americans on the low end of the economic ladder. One thing is for sure, the unemployment numbers would drop."

No offense, but with unemployment at less than 5%, if illegals that can't read or write are keeping you from finding work, you need to improve your skills.

At 5% those not working are unemployable, or don't want to find a job until their checks run out.

That's what they say, but it's not true. A study done two years ago showed that the number of "long-term" unemployed is pretty low, and that most unemployed are that way for less than six months.

This is the standard Dem mantra that "people have given up." Hogwash.

Pete, that's why they need all the new illegals to become citizens. They will vote based on class warfare and they will vote for the party that promises the most freebies and bennies.

My immediate question was, so is there a right direction for those living paycheck to paycheck?

(Think about this, if they are still living paycheck to paycheck…)

So is this number going up or down miz Pelosi?
