Kerry Attacks Bush Over Iraq Policies The administration's choice of confrontation instead of diplomacy has harmed the U.S., the senator says in a speech in Los Angeles.
By Ashraf Khalil, Times Staff Writer June 2, 2006
Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) harshly criticized the Bush administration for "disdaining diplomacy" in favor of a confrontational and unilateral foreign policy that has hurt the United States' standing around the world and made it less safe.
In a speech Thursday in Los Angeles, the former (and perhaps future) Democratic Party presidential candidate warned that the mistakes of Iraq must not be repeated in the current standoff with Iran.
"War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy," Kerry told a gathering of the Pacific Council on International Policy. "Yet our current leadership has arrogantly discarded this basic principle . All too often they disdained diplomacy as little more than an inconvenient detour on the chosen path to armed conflict."
The result, he said, was an ill-advised rush to war in Iraq that alienated other governments and diminished sympathy for the U.S. generated by the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. America's current isolation, and the presence of thousands of U.S. troops in Iraq, is "playing right into Iranian hands
. The Iranians are delighted," Kerry said.

"I ran, sir..."
For those who "forgot" what Hanoi Kerry
did in the past read on and learn the truth.
Hanoi Kerry was still a USNR officer while he:
gave false hearsay testimony to Congress
negotiated with the enemy
helped the US lose a war
abetted in the deaths of millions
created a hostile environment for all servicemen

Personally, I think SKERRY ought to withdraw his staff from the Senate.
It's been very well beyond long enough.
Stiffing a group of supposed leaders--mostly men--with a long dead-wood staff (used alternately to beat them about the head and shoulders) and deluding one's self that the group is going to get a group thrill out of it is . . .
beyond delusional.
He should definitely withdraw. And consider the whole exercise his uncrowning infamy in arrogant futility.
In other words, SKerry Bare-Bald-Pointed-Head, take your office equipment and all your vain office trash and remove yourself from the US SENATE as the very least, minimally charitable thing you could do for your excessively tolerant country.
Of course, if you really want the whole country to guffaw, shake their heads and laugh in derision at you LOTS MORE than the last time--continue pontificating out both ends. Maybe some enterprising teen will bottle it and make a mint on some new offensive party toy:
SKERRY CHERRY STINK BOMBS! Get your party 'favors' here!
Without a Plan, These Traitors Ran, and Our Nation thus was Stricken...
Thanks for the ping!
BTTT
What a miserable poltroon... a disgrace to the nation.
Hey, F'n....I know you were a D Student, but in order for there to be successful diplomacy YOU NEED 2 WILLING PARTICIPANTS
.
Does anyone recall Kerry's claim to have been at the surrender negotiations for Gulf War I?
sKerry is under the delusion that he is somebody of import and people listen to him.
For most of us, the only thing we wish to hear or see from him is his autorizing a full and complete opening of his military records from the National Records Center in St. Louis.
No more smoke screens, Lurch, just open your complete record!
...Linking the international probes are online communications, phone calls and in particular videotapes...
Regarding the recent arrests in Toronto, I am waiting to hear apologies to our administration as to their "nefarious usurption of the civil liberties of our citizens and 'guests' to our country..."...
sKerry and Kennedy et al just got the dung truck dumped on them...again...
I always hated this point when made by the leftists in this country. "The Bush Administration squandered the good will generated from 9-11..." If the goal of the left is to generate sympathy by playing the victim, then the hell with them. Is having sympathy from others a worthy and lofty goal to acheive? Not in my book. I think a nation should strive for greatness and garner as much ENVY as possible.
Well ... I couldn't have said that but I do agree whole-heartedly. ;-)
Does anybody really listen to this loser?
