High court wannabe makes a habit of bad judgment

If you're from North Carolina and you have good sense, you don't want to run afoul of Dean Smith. If you're a Tar Heel basketball fan, you love him. If you're not, but appreciate accomplishment and integrity, you respect him. And if you're a smart politician, the last thing you want is to get on the bad side of him.

"Smart" and "good sense" don't describe Rachel Lea Hunter, candidate for the N.C. Supreme Court. She posted a photo of herself and Coach Smith on her Web site. A caption implied he endorsed her. He didn't. (The mention quickly disappeared from the site.)

That little trick follows a fight with the state elections board over listing her nickname on the ballot. The nickname? "Madame Justice." She has never been a judge, let alone an appellate court justice. Election officials said no way.

We detect a pattern here -- and it's not one that recommends her for the Supreme Court.

This bimbo is a big time supporter of Cindy Shehan.

Her TV commercial features two dogs; the Candidate and her golden retriever.

The real bad judgment here is thinking that the opinion of a basketball coach has any value in deciding any issue that doesn't take place on a basketball court.

Just cause one has enough ability to read and memorize a book of law and various case histories, doesn't mean in the least bit that they have an ounce of God-given common sense and wisdom for correct interpretation of law and its application.

Dean Smith. The only man ever to consistently hold Michael Jordan to 20 points/game

Well if you read her website, www.rachelforjustice.com , she also wants people to vote for her because she has had brain surgery (no joke).

From reading her website, I think that this woman has a strong of strong sense of purpose Delusional, secular, euphoric, overwhelming conceit and pride, self-centerdness, self righteousness, anti-Christian, etc.??

With such ramblings on her website, I question her overall wisdom to sit on the NC Supreme Court. As dangerous as it is to have a liberal judge sit on the bench to legislate from such a trusted position, it is equally as dangerous to have a staunch conservative do the same, however, she's a graduate from a very liberal university and I think she's pro-homo, right to choose, anti-military, liberal through and through.

Personal beliefs must be set aside to allow strict interpretation of the law and the combination is essential to set on the NC Supreme Court. I did not get that idea from her posted viewpoints. She says she's a constitutioninalist, but I have to strongly disagree. She seems to be of the mind that 'she's knows best' and exactly what the 'original intent' of our founding forefathers had in mind when the Constitution was crafted. The very type justice that needs not apply to hold such responsibility.

Knowing this great country was basically founded on Christian principles, there is some merit as to keeping that fact in mind when considering rulings on the bench. Frankly, I seriously believe that anything that would interfere with her personal views as 'progressive' would be cast to the wind as if the counter posing viewpoint never had existed.

I do not see or read much of any thing from Ms. Hunter other than confusion and bitterness from things not being like she wants them or perceives them.

She's a loon to say the least.
