OK.

Sounds like more "feel-good" news, ore "people-oriented" news .....

So, it's going to become Oprah-light format ....

More Entertainment Tonight and Hollywood gossip?

"The audience is more sophisticated than we give them credit for..."

This reeks of condescension.

She surely won't be happy losing that camera angle flattering her stocking-free legs.

Maybe she'll insist on reading the news from a barstool?

Katie Couric's 1st demand? BURN THE MODESTY PANEL on the desk.

Katie is just trying to lower expectations. She knows she can't deliver the news with any authority so she spins that approach as "pretentious"...

"Couric hopes to end `pretentious era' in news"
"Couric is the epitome of pretentious."

Exactly. This grinning primate is aping Billary, as when they promised "the most ethical administration ever."

I honestly think she believes that by interjecting ad-libbed moments into the half hour that she will bring some more levity to her position.

It may work for a bit but not in the long run, IMO.

No Hillary-type pantsuits allowed, of course.

"Science and Military channels " Excellent!

I love the Military channel. They show lots of stuff blowing up. Real good.

The History channel is good too.

"The audience is more sophisticated than we give them credit for" said Couric

Isn't this the same as "you're smarter than I think you are"? With an attitude like that, Couric is not long for this job.

Could be. I won't pretend to know what's going on in Katie's little head.

If you have to say that you are all those things, well, the chances are you ain't any of 'em.

Fred Rogers really was a friend of mine, and Katie ain't no Fred Rogers.
