I think this incident is getting more putrid by the minute, as more reports are coming out. You are right to be skeptical. And the fact that the media ISN'T skeptical proves to me that they don't care about truth, they just want to take our military down. At any cost. Because surely they know that Iraqis are prone to lying and embellishing. They know that this has been tried before. They are being willfully negligent in their "reporting". They make me ill.

I am at the point where I don't think I will believe it unless one or more of the Marines allegedly (see how that "A" word fits in, Murtha? MSM?) involved actually confesses. LIVE.

I saw what the media twits did to the statements from one military leader, and he is furious. They are despicable, and THEY have blood on their hands for being terrorist cheerleaders. I really loathe them.

Did I mention how much I despise the MSM?

Oh, and most importantly--Please thank your child(ren) for their service. And thank you, for being a Marine mom. You have so much to be proud of. :^)

Very well stated. No way this POTUS is giving Iraqi bystander/combatants or Time magazine reporters the benefit of the doubt over US Marines.

He will do as he has always done, defer to the generals in charge on the ground to do a proper investigation, and will act with restraint and utmost respect for all boots on the ground regardless of rank throughout the proceedings.

No POTUS in modern history has shown more respect and class when interacting with the military. He may have some faults in other areas, this isn't one of them. After reading the many stories the little girl told, and having seen a CNN interview with the level headed independent Michael Yon vs. the rabidly anti US, terrorist collaborating Micahel Ware from Time magazine, I have no doubt that this is just one more sour note from a fellow hitman on Time's hit parade, and that our guys will be coming back, fully exonerated....and that part will be swept under the rug.

May God watch over these brave men, and put a Wall of Truth between them and the lies of those who conspire against them, so that these false witnessness have their words shatter upon this wall like cheap crystal on granite. May they find peace and the clarity of knowing God's hand is on their shoulder.

To be fair to individual Iraqis, lying and deception is an integral part of their culture.

In their culture, honesty is a lesser virtue. Loyalty to one's tribe greatly outweighs it. A man who lies in loyalty to his tribe is good. A man who tells an incovenient truth about his tribe is evil. In Iraqi culture, Bahgdad Bob was an admirable man, keeping loyal to his tribe regardless of the obvious truth.
