No, Intel is just losing its long held market share to AMD. Sun was toast a long time ago.

High tech is actually fairly strong right now and IT hiring is up...

Intel and Sun are 2 tech companies losing market share like crazy. AMD is displacing Intel on desktops and also servers (Opteron). Even Dell is going to start offering AMD Opteron chips in Dell's server options. Dell has long been Intel's bitch and only offered Intel for a long time.

Sun Microsystems has been irrelevant for awhile. It's hardware is too expensive, no one else codes for its SPARC processors anymore -- Microsoft and Linux both own the server market.
