A civil war??? This war in Iraq is not a civil war....Heussein played his cards in the UN...and for YEARS taunted them. The US wanted him to comply to inspections of their weapons (as the UN did)...he chose not to comply...The UN had no backbone so the coalition went in and forced his hand....don't you remember ANY of this? It was on TV, in the newspapers and on the radio for months and months....how soon to forget.

If Saddam Hussein was the point of concern, then the U.S. had no reason to spent dollars and lives in Iraq once he was captured. At the very least, we should stop this silly, utopian nonsense about "promoting freedom and democracy" as a legitimate reason to put the lives of thousands of Americans (including the husband of the woman in this article) at risk in a Third World sh!thole that most Americans couldn't even find on a map.

I also find it interesting that you cited the United Nations three times in a relatively short post. My cynicism about this country's motives in Iraq (which dates back to 1991, by the way) was utterly vindicated once I found that many so-called "conservatives" were willing to use the enforcement of United Nations resolutions as a legitimate reason to put the lives of thousands of Americans (including the husband of the woman in this article) at risk in a Third World sh!thole that most Americans couldn't even find on a map.
