My God, Fellow Freeper -- you just flagged the French National Psyche!
It appears to me that the aspect of French national Behavior that has changed in the last century ia that this mortal struggle for France has been lost entirely from within -- essentially commencing with De Gaulle's implementation of the Fifth Republic, over five decades past.
(Study historian Bat Ye'or's "Eurabia" closely. Terrifyingly cogent and germane!)
