For heaven's sake, declare the martial law and bring in troops if Police force is not enough to maintain the law and order. In US, even though it was technically against the US Constitution if I'm not mistaken, the US Marines were used to help quelling 1992 LA Riots. Just recently in New Orleans, troops were brought in to restore the law in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. France today, thanks to huge unassimilated and unintegrated Muslim enclaves, is in a mortal danger of disintegrating or being taken over by Islamic Gangs. Either France will eventually show the resolve while it's not too late, or it will become another "Palestine".
The enlisted ranks of the French Army has a high percentage of Muslims (I think I read about 20%). Essentially, they are screwed

The French have a quite capable force of special police. They brought them in to end the riots and everything was over quite quickly. That is not the problem---the problem is the political will to use them.
