OOPS -left off the end of the article:
Unfortunately, this is not happening. From what I see, despite the hijacking of the language of freedom, rights, and discrimination, this movement is about sleight of hand and political power.
And, more unfortunately, it appears to be succeeding. Particularly among our young people.

Whatever your sexual preference may be, whether you're straight, gay, a foot fetishist, you're into S & M...whatever, it's a choice. It doesn't give you any special status as a "minority", nor does it give you carte blanche to alter society's institutions.

Now there are without question instances where individuals change their sexual behavior.I have never heard of instance of a black person becoming white or vice versa.
Yet, somehow we have gotten to the point where it is generally accepted that being gay is a fact and not a choice.
Shocking -is there a really a difference between "being" and "feeling" or "being" and "doing"?
Oh the horror this concept must usher into the leftist minds that ponder it...

Mary Cheney in her new book equates this alleged discrimination to denial of rights in the past to women and blacks and prohibitions against interracial marriage. NO, NO, NO! This specious argument must be refuted. One is born black, there is no conclusive evidence that one is born 'gay'.

...they are a lot less opposed than they were a decade ago. Hmm...what else are they less opposed to? Unwed motherhood? Soft porn and cursing on TV? Tatooed young girls? Violent movies and videogames? Polygamy? Illiteracy? Day care child-raising? Christian-bashing?
We're sure progressing as a society, ain't we!

interestingly, it is primarily a USA influence which holds the "born" meme. Other nations hold the learned behavior as the societal position.
