OOPS -left off the end of the article:

Unfortunately, this is not happening. From what I see, despite the hijacking of the language of freedom, rights, and discrimination, this movement is about sleight of hand and political power.

And, more unfortunately, it appears to be succeeding. Particularly among our young people.

Whatever your sexual preference may be, whether you're straight, gay, a foot fetishist, you're into S & M...whatever, it's a choice. It doesn't give you any special status as a "minority", nor does it give you carte blanche to alter society's institutions.

Now there are without question instances where individuals change their sexual behavior.

I have never heard of instance of a black person becoming white or vice versa.

Yet, somehow we have gotten to the point where it is generally accepted that being gay is a fact and not a choice.

Shocking -is there a really a difference between "being" and "feeling" or "being" and "doing"?

Oh the horror this concept must usher into the leftist minds that ponder it...

Mary Cheney in her new book equates this alleged discrimination to denial of rights in the past to women and blacks and prohibitions against interracial marriage.

NO, NO, NO! This specious argument must be refuted. One is born black, there is no conclusive evidence that one is born 'gay'.

Mary has been grazing on loco weed and has stumbled around and lost her moral compass.

...they are a lot less opposed than they were a decade ago.

Hmm...what else are they less opposed to? Unwed motherhood? Soft porn and cursing on TV? Tatooed young girls? Violent movies and videogames? Polygamy? Illiteracy? Day care child-raising? Christian-bashing?

We're sure progressing as a society, ain't we!

The orientation toward homosexuality, wherever it comes from, is very strong in some people. It is natural for them to pursue happiness in accordance with that. They are free to make that choice. I don't fault a person at all for that. It doesn't matter how much is genetic, or development before or after birth.

However you see that as a "choice" or almost beyond choice, it still is the case that existing rational conventions around marriage are oriented towards the one man and one woman union that is our very strong custom. I see no reason to change it. Let us be tolerant within reason, and let us make sure appropriate contracts can be entered into. It is not a civil right to force all laws and persons to erase differences between your own relationship type and the legally recognized one.

The orientation toward homosexuality, wherever it comes from...

Most psychiatrists and physicians believe that it is an acquired "taste."

Usually the part of the mind that deals with matters sexual doesn't completely mature if the first sexual experiment was with one of the same sex where one derived the sinful pleasure.

This, of course, doesn't deter one iota from the fact that it is an evil, perverted, sinful and despicable act where one makes love to another's anus.

Besides it's very untidy to put one's pee-pee into another's poo-poo.

Now anyone who has a "tolerance" for actions such as this is an accommodator for the homosexual agenda. Furthermore, their "agenda" is all about getting their filthy fingers on our kids.

Most psychiatrists or psychologists who also study this will tell you that people who like to engage in homosexual activity also tend to be more promiscuous with sex, drugs and anything else. Basically, they tend to be hedonists primarily. They are also more likely to be violent towards their partners, commit adultery (or at least cheat), partake in child pornography or engage in sex with underaged boys and take drugs presciption and street drugs in excess and for reasons which they were not intended. I guess you could just say that 'boys just want to have fun (and no morals).'

What kind of gay guys do you hang out with? The vast majority of my gay friends are constantly complaining about "not getting any."

interestingly, it is primarily a USA influence which holds the "born" meme. Other nations hold the learned behavior as the societal position.

nonsense.

Look at the prison population with heterosexual prisoners who do homosexual acts.

Humans are made to function a certain way.

Homosexuality is a sexual fetish no different than those who have sex with animals. Humans are not made to have sex with animals but some choose to do so.

Your straw man argument does not work. The fact of the matter is there is no hard legitimate science that suports the gay gene myth.
