"these liberal freaks are gushing with evil delight at the prospect they can discredit our military."

nothing new...the Left has been anti-military for 40 years.
but as one who "walked point" for the Fifth Marines in 1969 & 1970 Nam, I find it more likely that these people were killed by crossfire and/or by the "bad guys" before they "bugged out" which is the terrorists' M.O.!

If our troops were subjected to this kind of intense media scrutiny in WW2, we would all be speaking Japanese or German by now.

In war, terrible things happen. If unjustified killings occurred, leave it to the military not the media to deal with them. And press on with what needs to be done. We have no need to scourge ourselves over issues like this one. Comparing even an event like this with the reality of the kind of vicious, brutal insurgency opccuring in Iraq is the height of absurdity.

And Murtha and his leftist colleagues should at least extend to American fighting fighting men the same courtesy of a trial - SHOULD ONE EVEN BE NECESSARY - that we mistakenly extend to contemporary pirates and homicidal maniacs like Moussoui.

AS ALWAYS, Michelle Malkin is right again.

I tend to believe there's a good chance that the ones capped at close range... were done in by their own countrymen. These pukes watch CNN and know what works to their advantage.

USnooze has a story about this. It mentions "a lawyer for a Marine officer with a slight connection to the case," in reference to Paul Hackett.

So is this the same Paul Hackett (Democrat Iraq veteran) who ran against Jean Schmidt in Ohio? He's also an attorney so it's possible. Be interesting to find out...

I suspect that it is the second case. The terrorists killed the people then immediately went to the media. This pattern has occurred over and over again with "Mosque attacks" and "Wedding Parties". Al Jeezera always blames the US military and the MSM jumps on this before our military even has a chance to respond. When the facts do come out, reasonable people (excluding Dean/DNC, Amnesty International, ANSWER, Move On and the other professional America haters) usually see through the BS.

The USMC is the most effective and admired fighting force in the world. In order for the terrorists to beat them, it must be done politically and here at home.

For the left, everything is another Vietnam. That is when they were happiest and most demonstrated their skills as "useful idiots".
