I am going to ask a difficult question.

So what?

People die during war.

Sometimes war does not bring out the best in us.

Get used to it.

"So what?"
There is a HUGE difference between collateral damage and MURDER!

As much as the LSM would have you think, United States Marines are not Nazis .
And we do not go out and summarily murder people...not even the "bad guys!"

It's very simple: we are the Good Guys in this war. And the Good Guys do not make war upon noncombatants -- unarmed civilians, refugees, prisoners, the injured, and the like. The Good Guys intentionally kill only the Bad Guys -- enemy combatants -- and no one else. If while fighting the Bad Guys a Good Guy kills a noncombatant by accident, no crime has been committed; such tragedies are an unavoidable part of war. But when the Good Guys intentionally kill noncombatants, or by inaction allow them to be killed, that's a crime: murder. And murderers are Bad Guys.

Therefore, as Good Guys, it is our duty to investigate charges of murder made against members of our armed forces, and, if they are found guilty, to hang them as an example to the others.

I hope this answers your difficult question.

Good morning.
"Sometimes war does not bring out the best in us.

Get used to it."

So, are you saying that you have gotten used to atrocities like the Rape of Nanking and the killings at My Lai 4?

You're right; war sucks. It can be very nasty and cause people to do things they would not do under normal circumstances.

That being said, I don't believe this "massacre" occured as the libs are telling it. Were they there? No.

I'll wait for the facts to come out, but I haven't believed Murtha's take on this since he first started spewing it.

The collective "Laws of War" made up of the four Geneva conventions, the Hague conventions and numerous other treaties and agreements, clearly stipulates that "indiscriminate" attacks on civilian targets are prohibited. Attacks to achieve clear military objectives are permitted. In the case if Haditha, returning overwhelming fire on a building, home or compound, even when civilians are present, is completely within the law.

A fact overlooked by the main stream media and the left wing blow hards is that these same laws of war prohibit using civilians and civilian objects and facilities as cover. The blame for the Haditha deaths lies with those initiating hostilities, the terrorists, not those responding.
