He probably doesn't think too much about Irish illegals. Do GP's in Minnesota very often think about tropical diseases? I honestly can't remember the last time I came across anyone from Ireland - legal or illegal. On the other hand, on an average day here in Los Angeles, I come across maybe 4 or 5 illegals every single day.

Top U.S. Backer Turns On IRA

I really didn't want anyone to turn a rhetorical question into a revelation of their ignorance. I apologize. If you have time, look up the word provincial.

You gotta give it to Byrd, he kept his words simple and to the point "been there, done that, it doesn't work". The first time I have agreed with the Senator; perhaps Zell should give him a call?

Let's hope that "disconnect" results in seeing every last one of those who voted for this abomination get booted out of office (when their terms are up).

You have my vote on that. Unfortunatly my rino senator isn't up for re-election until 2010 and he is one of the worst (John McCain). We may revive the recall movement against him though.

For a "moderate" who's sometimes referred to as a "RINO" in these parts, Peter King has definitely hung tough in this matter.

Even a broken click is perfectly correct once a day.

The thing that really hacks me is that if the Senate REPRESENTED THE STATES as WAS ORIGINALLY INTENDED then this piece-o-turd legislation would have gotten shot down toot sweet.

How about the house pass a "clean" fence bill?

Just a bill that ONLY adresses the fence issue. I think that will go a long way towards progress on this issue.

It is a tangible and effective tool.

Blockade the whole 2000 mile length.

Good fences make good neighbors. If mexico is reaaaaaly our friend they already know this.

David Gold went throught it point by point last Saturday. It is very disconcerting.

Part of which gives illegals rights of privacy that regular citizens don't have, absolves illegals and their employers from any pertinent criminal liability, allows illegals to issue residency statements with no colloboration, reduces their tax liability....

But it goes beyond it; these are Reagan Republicans, and Democrats, independents, moderates -- across the board people are opposed. They want border security first.”

Correction: They want border security PERIOD. We're already flooded here in SoCal, FGS. Give us a break already...let these masses assimilate!

"Maybe we need to require Senators to run for re-election every 2 years, as well."

I would rather see them all become 1 term wonders by constitutional amendment.

I remind the two traitorous senators from California of that on a regular basis.

Both of them (Feinstein and Boxer) promised that they "didn't believe in granting blanket amnesty", yet they BOTH voted for blanket amnesty. Liars.

There's not much difference anymore between the "two" parties when we have our own president siding with the far left. They won't get my votes, any of those who are pushing open borders. They need to be replaced with REAL AMERICANS.

I wonder what President Bush would do if he was presented with a security only bill out of conference and not a "comprehensive" immigration bill?

Now to get the Senate set up like the House with some real Republicans who listen to the people.

Shays will never be a conservative, but I have been preching discipline for a long time. From the Party. Unfortunately it seems they'be no interest, at least in disciplining Liberals. They'll sure cut conservative Republicans out of meetings though.

I agree this is the best year to teach a lesson. If the House holds firm, they keep their seats. More Dem seats are up then Rep seats this year. Most of the Reps up for re-election voted no to the Bill. Re-elect the Reps that voted No, drop the others, and elect the Republican challengers in other states UNLESS they make it clear they support amnesty. I've crossed Ricketts off in nebraska because he does. No more Hagels, so I support (D) Nelson for re-election. Whom may turn after election, but at least voted no right now.
