No doubt. To me, the major increase in legal immigration was far more important than what would happen to the illegals already here.

I disagree here in Texas our Taxes are skyrocketing becuase of - Free Schooling & Free Medical care if you show up at any County Hospital !!!!

Just look at the the numbers in the last four years.
Population, 2004 estimate Texas-22,490,022, USA- 293,655,404,
Population, percent change, April 1, 2000 to July 1, 2004 Texas-7.9%, USA-4.3%.
Population, 2000 Texas-20,851,820, USA-281,421,906

We have about 1-1/2 million new illegals in Texas since April 2000.
