There are not that many pickup trucks in CA compared to a lot of other states. Also, what does a gun rack in a vehicle have to do with ecological systems? And since when does CA (or any other government entity) care about balancing the books?

Yeah right. There are probably twice as many pickups (and SUV's) here as the rest of the country put together. As for going to Nevada, forget it. You will pay massive DMV penalties for registering a vehicle without California emissions equipment. Paticularly if it's a commercial vehicle, and California sees trucks as "commercial vehicles."
