SAN DIEGO -- Arizona Sen. John McCain on Tuesday canceled an appearance for a Republican congressional candidate who has attacked his opponent for supporting McCain's immigration bill.
McCain, R-Ariz., was scheduled to speak Wednesday at a breakfast fundraiser for Brian Bilbray, who is locked in a close runoff race with Democrat Francine Busby for the San Diego-area seat left vacant by disgraced former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham. The event was expected to raise at least $65,000.
The winner of the June 6 special election will fill the remaining seven months left in Cunningham's term.
In an e-mail sent to the Bilbray campaign, McCain spokesman Craig Goldman acknowledged that McCain and Bilbray "disagree on some of the issues related to immigration reform." He said McCain did not want his appearance to distract from Bilbray's campaign.

InSane is going to become a Demoncat later this year. It just may work.
LOL That's a nice way to put it
whatever.
Bilbray was a congressman in San Diego area before and lost. He was not the best person to put into this after the Cunningham nightmare. Someone fresh and new should have been put forward. Oh well. Hope for the best now.

IMO McCain's boycott helps Bilbray!
My-way-or-the-highway McCain.
I guess the open border Republicans believe that sustaining the invasion is more important than everything Republican or Democrat.
Hopefully!
Well, McCain's not the
only one angry over
supporting/non-supporting
Senate immigration action.
I got a call today from the
GOP asking for another
donation as I've "been
such a strong supporter
in the past." I answered:
EXACTLY! And I'm going to
stay in the past because of
what you guys did in that
Senate Bill on Immigration.
He hemmed and hawed and all
at once our connection got
cut! I've e-mailed them,
called them, and now they're
calling me! Ok...they're going
to hear it like it is.
If Bilbray disagrees with McCain, he can't be all bad.
McCain may find himself un-invited from numerous appearances on his trek toward the WH in 08.
McCainiac crapped out b/c he figured he was going to get heckled and booed by Bilbray's anti-amnesty supporters. As usual, McCainiac is on the wrong side of the issue.
"MeCain" strikes again.
He's pro-life and supports the war in Iraq. How would that help with him with the DemocRats?
Utah snubbed McCain recently when they voted against his preferred candidate that he stumped for Chris Cannon. I see a very positive trend developing.
Well he has to flip flop on something, we will have to see which it is...he will try and thread the needle but IMO he will crash and burn...
No way he wins as a republican. He knows that. He will be convinced he can take out Hitlery with this big conversion, he has a change of heart and announces he's a demoncat. The media embrases their darling and say its a new era....He loses to a yet to be identified conservative with a backbone.
Whew! cCain finally does something of value, absents himself from the political scene. I'd much rather have Duncan speak then him.
Of course the main reason he probably isn't showing is because he's afraid of the reception he'll get. he's a political coward.
