Treasury Secy. Snow to resign. Being replaced by Goldman Sachs Chari, Henry Paulson.
Snow was a good man - but a lousy salesman..
'This White House ain't big enough for two Snow's, so one us has to go'
Mr. Paulson has been our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since May 1999, and a director since August 1998. He was Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer or Co-Chief Executive Officer of The Goldman Sachs Group, L.P., our predecessor, from June 1998 to May 1999, and served as Chief Operating Officer from December 1994 to June 1998. Mr. Paulson is not on the board of any public company other than Goldman Sachs. He is currently the Chairman of the Financial Services Forum. He is affiliated with certain non-profit organizations, including as a member of the Board of Directors of Catalyst. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Nature Conservancy, Co-Chairman of the Asia/Pacific Council of The Nature Conservancy and Chairman Emeritus of The Peregrine Fund, Inc.

That's Goldman Sachs CHAIR....
Note to self: proof before posting.
Nooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's ok you were in a hurry!
Get ready for the shrill disapproval from all the usual commie suspects who can't stand to hear crowing about capitalism and our good economy.
I'm sure they've all been summonded to a meeting as we speak, where they're passing out the negative talking points for the week.
Well thank God he eliminated the phone tax before he left!
gs has been referred to as "the evil empire."
And now I'm going to be late for work. Have a good one all!
Did not Bush at his press conference with Blair on Friday, when asked about Snow, say that Snow had not discussed leaving the cabinet? Is this another case of Bush lied? I know there are some weasel words in his statement. Bush would do better with these personnel questions if he would just give no comment.
Hence this factoid is not particularly encouraging in any degree. Another Olympia Snowe? -- So yet another Snow Job.
Pity we have to be stuck with this this this this.......
Goldman has a lot of dems. Think NJ's Corzine
Another non-event in the world of American politics.
Swapping ONE friend of unbacked fiat money for another friend of paper money (Roger Sherman's term for them -- look him up) is not news: It's more of the same old.
"It is perhaps not QUITE as bad as the Sierra Club...."
Funny, I see it as somewhat worse. The Sierra Club typically wants to make everyone's land worthless. TNC wants to then take that land & sell to the govt & developers for billions. They both exploit landowners. TNC is like the Sierra Club, just with an unheathy dose of greed.
The markets probably won't approve of this guy either.
