Former Marine Foils Armed Robbery

An ex-Marine pulled out a pocket knife after five people, including a young girl, allegedly tried to rob him late Monday evening in Midtown. That girl died.
Another one of the alleged assailants is in critical condition.
Investigators are calling the case one of self-defense. They say no charges will be filed against the victim in the case.

Incorrect. Rather never became a Marine despite his oft repeated claims to the contrary. Rather was discharged early in recruit training as medically unfit.

I have seen a master at work and it is absolutley amazing what they do. Aggression in a knife fight can get you killed if your opponent knows what they are doing. True. But that level of skill is such a microscopic segment of people who train in martial/combative skills. Let alone the general population.
I truly doubt that this Marine was a Silat Guro. I believe that he was a Marine who aquitted himself like a Marine. He fought like an SOB and he won.
