If it is verified that the events occurred as described, then the perpetrators should hang.
I am not making a statement before the investigation is to take place. I want to wait for all the facts to come out.
However, this is very troubling and if it is true, this is a huge PR coup in the Muslim World.
If this is true, and like you say..............
I agree.
Furthermore the MSM never find time to tell of the thousands of instances were U.S. soldiers are dying or being wounded in efforts to save Iraqi's!
Showing this much more accurate reality of what U.S. soldiers are doing day in and day out in Iraq would go a long way in showing Iraqi's (and the World) the full & true picture.
Yet the MSM won't do this - They will tell the same negative spun stories seven different ways in seven days. They are pathetic.
I fully understand that feeling. But do you know, or have you really reflected on, what it is that these guys go through that is so destructive of their ability to judge and control their actions?
Cause living as a marine in Iraq, having IED's go off right in your face, watching your best friends die, torn to pieces, really messes up your head.
Troubling if true. This could be a real morale buster for our Troops and media bonanza for Murtha and the leftists who long for any American failure.
I'd agree to that. BUT -- forgive me if I
1) think the story is a steaming load
2) don't trust the media to be judge and jury
3) want Murtha to shut the heck up during an investigation
This smells about as bad as Kerry's purple heart heroism.
The AP just happened to allegedly obtain top secret military intelligence photographs and insider info on the investigation.
From the same source as the NSA logging phone records no doubt?
Either these stories are being manufactured, or there are serious gaps in our national intelligence, or both.
I smell a DemoRAT. Or perhaps the sources just happen to be some of the good muslims employed by our government?
And no doubt the source is very close to Murtha since he cried wolf first.
Suspend judgment! If this case continues to be prosecuted in the media there can be no justice for the Marines.

"They" learned about publicity with Abu Grebe(?) and perhaps think they can really get some mileage out of this?
Since an Iraqi journalism student filmed it (coincidence?) I am wondering if the film shows any soldiers actually doing an evil deed? Or, is everything after the fact with no evidence but the word of perhaps "scared" Iraqi's and the bodies?
If it is prov-en our guys did this then they should be punished. I just find it hard to believe - you see pictures of the kids following them around, playing, etc. Guess I'm just don't trust anyone anymore. Especially the likes of Mr. Mouth.
By the way, did anyone see "We Were Soldiers" Sunday night? A great movie - shows what our guys went through - HELL! Remember how the politicos raked them over the coals?
There could be "issues" that complicate the investigation. Like, say, the race of the perps for example.
If... then...
Let's see about that "if" first, shall we?
I have full confidence that the US Military authorities will thoroughly investigate this matter, the truth will be revealed, and appropriate action taken. Do you share this confidence?
"If it is verified that the events occurred as described, then the perpetrators should hang."
What is the current status of the death penalty in the U.S.? I don't approve of double standards. Death penalty for soldiers only would be wrong.
If true this is horrible. I have tremendous respect for all branches of the Armed Forces (grandfather/Army Air Corps, father/Marine, brother/Army), but if true this is madness.
Unfortunately, Al Qaeda and the insurgents don't have tribunals and military courts. Cutting the heads off innocents and raping "infidels" earns these monsters accomodations and respect. We have a system (however flawed) to deal with atrocities such as these. They do not, and will not.
IF it is true, the perpetrators should be appropriately dealt with - but we have recently seen at Duke University -the gap between the perception and the reality.
