No, not in Iran's case. And even if they were, given their comments about how they would like to use a bomb on Israel, I wouldn't take the risk. They shouldn't be allowed to do anything in that area.
I just thought your comment that beause we haven't accomplished anything in 50 years, no other country could possibly have a peaceful motive in researching fusion was BINO - Brilliant in name only. (If you made a stupid comment about Gore, it would be ALBINO)
Yes, there is a military purpose (for fusion), and it's called the "hydrogen bomb
Ok, I forgot that the H bomb uses fusion.
Iran's fusion technology is only for weapons since there is no commercial power application at present.
Well, you know, I could be experimenting with fusion in my backyard with the idea that I'd build a peaceful fusion reactor, but it's not very likely. They admit they are experimenting with fusion. I take them at their word, and I'm confident that it's not so that they can become the envy of the world, by being the first to build a futuristic power plant that the most brilliant scientists in the world haven't been able to construct after more than 50 years of work.
*sigh* And sooner, rather than later.
Am I the only one that thinks the "3-month" or "6-month" or "10-year" projections by media, congresspeople, etc., are just so much window dressing?
My theory has always been that they can buy ready-made technology from Vlad the Impaler "Meet the New Russia -- Same as the Old Russia" Putin at any time.
I mean, Vlad has got to be pretty sore about having the bottom drop out of his Iraq income all at once. What better way is there to make up the difference quickly?
