MORE than 20 babies have been aborted in advanced pregnancy because scans showed that they had club feet, a deformity readily corrected by surgery or physiotherapy.

According to figures from the Office for National Statistics covering the years from 1996 to 2004, a further four babies were aborted because they had webbed fingers or extra digits, which are also corrected by simple surgery. All the terminations took place late in pregnancy, after 20 weeks.

I notice they took the effort to cite cancer screening alongside small medical problems. One can only wonder why they would equate the two.

Of course, any abortion even of a "perfect" child is tragic, but boy this really brings home the brutality of killing a baby for convenience. We all easily can picture a baby born with some slight abnormality which can be corrected. The parents should be concerned for the child, instead they decide to kill that baby to save themselves the "trouble".

There are a lot of seriously confused or downright immoral people in this world, don't ever doubt that for a second.

This is why abortion ALWAYS leads to euthanasia, there is an abortion/eugenics/euthanasia nexus and always has been. People who have a problem with handicapped fetuses, even some of those who can be helped surgically before or after birth, also seem to have a problem with certain cognitively disabled people in hospices, some of who aren't even dying.

Lebens unwertes leben ... I suppose it's so much more convenient to just dispose of them when they're little. If you let them get bigger, the unenlightened folks might thing they were people or something. Herding them into gas chambers is looks bad.

The whole foundation of abortion is the "genetically perfect" society. Playing God, and terminating the undesirables. It is the same belief that drove Hitler to try to create a master race. It is a cruel, and most of the time racist belief system.

Early proponents of abortion favored it primarily on these grounds. Current proponents may or may not be aware of this. Many who support it today may simply see it as a right that they don't want taken away. But it is built on a "kill the blacks, Jews, and physically and mentally impaired" mentality.
